Anyone out there familiar with tax preparation for both the Public side and the Private side? Some call this receivables and payables. Some call this paying taxes and assessing taxes. Encompasses the entire 1099 form series. Need help learning how to do this or would love an experienced preparer to do this all for me.

Thanks!

Not sure I understand the question but...a 1099 is normally issued by a payer (expense) to REPORT a payment (income) to a payee.

AARP has a free tax service setup at some of the Rec centers. They can help you I am sure.

There are different versions of 1099s. A 1099-R is for retirement income (pensions, IRA distribution, etc.). A 1099-GOV is from such things a tax refunds.

The point is that they are income.
