Anyone going to SUNnFUN April 4th through 9th? I will have a booth there in building A selling my Vintage Air Maps and Cub shirts. Please stop by if only to say hello to a fellow Villager.

If you have a chance, swing by and have breakfast or lunch at reesecliff on south Florida avenue or Fred's off Beacon and Hardin. Both have websites.

I worked for WGTO radio in Winter Haven and we had a tent at the very 1st Sun-N-Fun Flyin..I got to interview pilots on live radio and got a ride in an open cockpit Stearman biwing..The pilot loaned me a scarf and gogles and a leather helmet to wear

Thanks for posting the link.
If someone reading this has a visiting granddaughter or grandson who is interested in flying, this show would be a memorable thing to do together.
I am convinced that wanting to be a pilot is absolutely a born trait and it shows up when kids are young.

I have to agree with this. Our son did an EAA Young Eagles flight when he was about 9 or 10 years old and was hooked. He graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in Aeronautical Science, and is currently working as a flight instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI). He has an interview for a first officer position next month.

I bet when you think back on it, you will remember those signs that were there even before he was 9 or 10......
When he was a little boy, his favorite toys were probably little airplanes instead of little cars and trucks.
You also probably noticed early-on that if he heard a plane he always looked up and watched that plane fly until it was out of sight....
And, as you no doubt already know, that looking up does not stop. He now probably regales you with what kind of plane it is and more information about that plane than you ever wanted to know.
(Be sure to look at the picture alemorkam put on TOTV yesterday of an osprey flying with a fish in its talons. Your son would get a kick out of the aerodynamics that big bird instinctively knows how to use.)
Thanks for supporting my theory. All my evidence is anecdotal, but I have been around long enough to have seen it over and over. I think it's pretty wonderful.

Almost ready to start the show! If anyone is interested in spending the day at SUNnFUN, I can offer one free ride and admission on Wednesday and two on Friday in exchange for manning the booth around lunchtime so I can eat. Send a PM to me if interested.

Made it in the Villages Daily Sun yesterday on page C6. :MOJE_whot:

It's about an hour and a half drive. The weather should cool down a little today.
The air show starts at 2:00. P-51 Mustangs will be there.
If you are interested, open the link to see what else is there.

In all my many years, I had never seen The Blue Angels.....
Saw them yesterday......
Now that's what "awesome" really means! :bigbow:
