Watching the Repugnantcans focus on the leakers, instead of what the President Of The United States lied about...was beyond embarrassing as a patriotic American citizen.

Simply incredible. :ohdear:

I did get one belly-laugh though, when I read Garry Kasparov's dead-on tweet....

Actually the hearing was supposed to be about leaks.

What was really sad was watching the democrats make speeches and tell Director Comey and Director Rogers that they disagreed with them.

For the record, Director Comey only stated that the FBI did not have any evidence to support wiretaps. He did not say they didn't happen. We know there were leaks and we do know that someone either tapped or bugged Trump Towers. That is how the information about General Flynn was obtained.

The democrats were a complete joke here. They were not at all interested in hearing what these two men had to say, they were simply interested in making political speeches.

For the record, Trump accused the former president of "wire tapping" Trump Tower during the 2016 Presidential Election. Trump was not willing to reveal his source of information.

According to Director Comey, there is no way that a President can order "wire tapping", only through the process of obtaining a warrant, through a FISA court, or a district, or federal court is that possible.

Trump then accused Obama of using the British Security Services to do that illegal bidding, which was also debunked by Britain. Trump then accused a FOX commentator as the source of that information, which FOX summarily denied. That particular commentator, has had close ties to Russia, and the speculation has been made that Russia was the source of the Trump lies.

Just because there is no evidence to support wiretaps does not mean that the converse is true.

Your reading of the information has shown a severe lack of critical thinking and information analysis on your part. Your ranting is more likely to have come from your comrades at the other end of the bar after a "Villages Happy Hour" starting at 11AM

Yes, and did you also hear him when Comey said that he could not discuss FISA procedures in ANY form in the open? I took that to me than he could not say one way or the other that anything had gone through the FISA process or had even been requested. Not yes, not no. Nothing. Period.

Also, just because he said they could find no evidence of wire tapping, he did not say that it had not happened....just that they had not uncovered any evidence that it had. Just because President Trump or anyone else does not reveal their sources does not mean that what they say is "made up" or lies. On the other hand, that too, is possible. Anything IS possible, including wire tapping, surveillance, leaks or whatever you want to call it. Somebody got an awful lot of information that should not have been available otherwise.

Somebody knows something. They just ain't talkin'.

The current President States accused the former President of the United States based a statement by a FAUX NEWS analyst. We allow now know there was no basis in fact for this statement. The only thing for the current President of the United States to address the American People and admit he was wrong. Then offer his apology to President Obama!

Actually the hearing was supposed to be about leaks.

Actually you are completely wrong. The GOP members with the exception of Ros-Letinin only wanted to talk about leaks but that is not the reason for the hearing by the House Intelligence Committee.

The hearing was called with one specific purpose.. to investigate what role the Russians had in manipulating the US election. And who if anyone in the country either intentionally or ignorantly aided the Russians in that goal.

Here is the official committee announcement of the hearing... and you can look it up by clicking the link

"The House Permanent Select Committee (http://intelligence.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=770)on Intelligence (HPSCI) will be holding an open hearing on its investigation into Russian active measures during the 2016 election campaign.
The hearing will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 20 in room 1100 of the Longworth Building"

So I will await your admitting that your statement about the purpose of the hearing being one to investigate leaks being wrong.

Actually the hearing was supposed to be about leaks.

Actually the hearing was to begin to investigate what the Russians did to influence the US Presidential election. The relevant agencies have already reported that the Russians (https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ICA_2017_01.pdf)did use multiple methods in their attempt to manipulate it, to support Trump and to oppose Clinton.

From the intelligence report:

We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election. Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump. We have high confidence in these judgments.

They have not drawn any conclusions as to what the result would have been had there been no Russian interference, but they left no doubt in their report that an attempt was made.

House Intelligence Committee to Hold Open Hearing on Russian Active Measures Investigation | U.S. House of Representatives (http://intelligence.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=770)

Here is the official title of today's hearing:

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) will be holding an open hearing on its investigation into Russian active measures during the 2016 election campaign.
The hearing will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 20 in room 1100 of the Longworth Building

So you are wrong, or perhaps you just subscribe to another alternative fact.

Dear Guest:

Indeed it is difficult these days to get a fix on any issue because the news agencies social media, etc is so hyper -partisan and hyperbolic that filtering becomes almost impossible.

However one can deduce that since it was ignored progressives didn't want to talk about the criminality of leaks and their source. And we agree that while Comey and Rogers stated no evidence to wiretapping they did not say it didn't happen, so if you understand Washington speak its likely that it did happen. Why no evidence? Well because wiretapping an opponent is a criminal act. You would have to be a real dumb criminal to leave a trail of evidence. Proving a crime is a difficult undertaking especially here since the likely culprits were professional spies, progressives and MSM will circle the wagons and mostly because progressives hate Trump and because they believe the end justifies the means. They have no honor

The SAME can be said about the other side who are also delusional about what/why the government does what it does.

It's all part of the plan, controlling the population through divide and conquer. Keep us all in different groups with different ideals and wants. Keep us at each other so we have no time/desire to work together against them.

No evidence of wire tapping.

That does not mean there was no wire tapping.

It also, letter of the law like, only addresses wire tapping. If there was some other type "listening" going on, that would not be addressed because it is not wire tapping.

You, or your other Trump folks NEVER mention the attack on our election process by Russia, by the way the reason for the hearings, not only from media but EVERY single agency.

You folks do not seem the least bit concerned about this attack.

Dear Guest:

let me ask a simple question. if you were the director of an Intelligence Agency what issue would be a priority in your mind?

1. allegations of wiretapping
2. allegations of Russian interfering with elections
3. actual and continual leaks of intelligence importance.

to my way of thinking the first two are important but they are 1) allegations only 2) probably politically motivated
whereas 3) are actual leaks that are damaging America. the nature/source and reason for these leaks ought to be a priority and will probably assist in answering 1 & 2

We do not have serious people asking or acting in a serious manner. what we have is political drama and it is getting nauseating.

May I ask why the word ALLEGED in front of #2 ? I believe you should change that or simply ignore reality.

When you make that change, which unless you are simply trolling (looking for reaction wit a ridiculous statement). Does that change your view ?

If I were making that list I also would add to #1. Accusation leveled by sitting President on last President.

And, in the case of #3 suffix....continued, longstanding acceptable by both parties depending...

That changes it, and if wish I can cupola the reports that actually show all of wgphat I say.

Not sure why you would intentionally, not imply, but simply say things that completely change whatever your point is.

1. The allegations were made by a sitting President against his predecssor, then extended to other countries. More truthful and certainly changes it.

2. PROVEN interference in USA election process by Russia.

3. I will not argue with the leak problem, but this is not the first administration to complain and will not be the last. Leaks are what brought down Bill Clinton.

PS..I seriously am curious why an intelligent person like you reduces yourself to lying so easily. You have to know the intelligence community. Decision on Russian involvement, yet you simply ignore it. You have to know the wiretapping charges are not simply charges..they are by a sitting President on another, and you certainly are aware of the years of leaking (certainly a bad thing but it did not just begin and it will go on...when any President misbehaves..see Nixon, Clinton, it increases)

I am just curious...you are a smart man...do you think peoplee do not recognize these as made up ?

Just to clarify what Comey said:

Comey said that the FBI, did not have any information/evidence that Trump was wire tapped. He did NOT say that it did not happen.

That is true...let me do my summary.

Comey and Rogers did not want this. The subcommittee and senators on both sides felt the spewing of non facts was dangerous, thus requested this open session.

The comm is charged with initially the investigation of whether Russia attempted to sway our election.

1. Comey and Rogers, with great vigor and confidence staed unequivocally that Russia did attempt to sway our elections to the advantage of Trump. Discussions on motives were basically not discussed because of open forum.

2. Because and at the request of the entire comm, the charges of felony activity by Trump against Obama was discussed. All Comey and Rogers after stating in detail what would be required to wire tap was that none of those things took place and they have zero evidence of any wiretap on Trump or his campaign. Not one scintilla of evidence was used.

3. Comey and Rogers also testified basically the same thing....i.e., absolutely no evidence of any manipulation of vote totals anywhere and were specific on some swing states.

4. Comey and Rogers also said there was not a shred of evidence about the British being used to wiretap Trump, and spoke of that relationship, etc.

5. Comey and Rogers did confirm, and this was big news...that there IS an ongoing investigation into collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign or members of the campaign.

Much discussion on leaks, the serious nature, etc.

I might add both Comey and Rogers were very clear that nothing should be read into what they said they would not discuss, and same with specific names, i.e.....the fact I am not answering means nothing negative or positive.

Sorry for all the words but your postbwas an obvious political post trying to shed good light on Trump.

Just to clarify what Comey said:

Comey said that the FBI, did not have any information/evidence that Trump was wire tapped. He did NOT say that it did not happen.

Now that's funny!!!:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

I know...right?

That's like saying....

"Comey said that the FBI, did not have any information/evidence that Trump raped two poodles."

"He did NOT say that it did not happen."

See how that works MOCPD? ;)

It's crazy....they will believe that Hillary and John Podesta ran a child sex ring in the back of a Pizza shop based on an article in Infowars. That is the Pulitzer Prize winning Alex Jones news source. Oh wait, they didn't win a Pulitzer prize for journalism and the story was FAKE NEWS!

But the Right Wing believed it, including Mike Flynn, so much so that some idiot went in there with a gun and shot up the place. These things they believe, the inconvenient truth not so much!

Law Enforcement Begs World: Read Hillary Emails to Find Child Rape Evidence >> Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind! (https://www.infowars.com/bombshell-hillary-linked-to-child-rape-network-emails-suggest/)

Comey was smart enough to use the same tactic that smart folks use in court by saying "I do not recall" when asked a question. He said that he did not have any evidence that there was wire tapping. He did not say that there had been no wire tapping. Try to follow along and get your lilliputian head out of your posterior.

If there was NO evidence of wire tapping then how could there be wire tapping.

Insults will get you no where!

Are you going to suggest that because Comey said that he did not have enough evidence for an indictment of Hillary, that she did not commit a felony. If so, then there is no use even discussing this with you. Of course, words and wording are important. I can't "see" the air, but it's there. Comey said he had no evidence that there was wire tapping. He did not say there was no wire tapping. The only evidence he might have is that of "legal" wire tapping by court order.

As for insults, my insults are always retaliatory. At least that is the only intention. I can have a civil discussion, but it is impossible for CNM to have one. There are a few on here that insist on insulting the poster consistently. Normally, I only disparage politicians, not the poster. Actually, I am surprised that other liberal posters on here endorse CNM's nasty demeanor. But, I guess if they accept Hillary's corruption and illegal behavior, then I shouldn't be surprised when they don't police their own.

Very well stated response and civil.
