I don't have the answer to your question but you do have options.

Do not enter the political forum.

In the regular forum just click hide classifieds and it hides the political posts as well.

Thank you. I don't want to them even show up as new posts, so will block classifieds.

If you click on New Posts instead of
Today's Posts, the political posts will not show up. The classifieds will, and you will have to click on Hide Classifieds every time you refresh the page, which is annoying, but politicals won't show up.

It also may depend on what browser you are using. The above applies to my personal experience using Firefox.
