We thought we would try tailgating at the Friday polo match. I know there is a separate tailgating area opposite the grandstands. Is there a charge for this and is it only for golf carts or can cars tailgate as Well?
Thanks for any information.

I did call the number, even checked the website and left a message, no return call yet.

If you call the number and press #3 for Mary her message will give you her cell number if she isn't at her desk. She will give you all the details. If the Friday game is at the main field, yes, the tailgating area is opposite the grandstands. There are groups that reserve space so you will need to find the open areas. You will need a general admission ticket, there is a discount if you buy at the box offices. The gate price is higher. When you arrive the staff will direct you where to go. I have run tailgating parties for our neighborhood for the last couple years and we have a blast. Take food and drinks and a couple lawn chairs, a camera and sit back and enjoy.

We went last weekend and had a great time. We bought general admission tickets each ($15, I think). I saw several cars also. We drove our cart, parked on the sidelines. Took a small folding table and camp chairs, along with cheese, crackers, and something to drink. You could hear the horses galloping across the field from there.
If you know nothing about Polo other than what you saw from the movie "Pretty Woman", if you can, take the Polo 101 class (free, but you need to get tickets).

Yes. The tailgating area is across from the actual stadium (grandstand). You pull your cart right up to the field, separated by a row of bushes. If you bring a car/van, you park behind the row of carts. Its $15.00 per person at the gate.

We went last week and, even without knowing anything about POLO, we really enjoyed it. Next time I will get the upgraded seat -- $20 per ticket instead of $15. I would like to sit upstairs to have a better view. Very nice day out.
