I am not here in Political to go on and on about how I am a moderate and how I am fiscally conservative and how I am socially progressive and how sad I am that communication has broken down on so many levels.

I have a new rule for myself that I take along to social events. I just say, "I cannot talk about it anymore." And then I try to gently lead the conversation back to conversation that is fun, before things escalate into a din of predictable responses. From both sides. 'tis hell being a moderate sometimes. And to boot, I was born a Libra. And although I never put any stock in all that horoscope stuff, other than thinking it's kind of fun, I gotta tellya, I do that Libra thing of seeking balance. But trying to find balance in politics today is mostly a lost cause.

In real life, using my, "I cannot talk about it anymore" line is working for me just fine. But that does not mean that I am not greatly saddened by the breakdown in communication. A breakdown in communication at a time in history when we are saturated with means of communication.

Well, enough about all that. I really do plan to apply my real life rule to what I talk about on TOTV, too. But sometimes the girl just can't help it. (But she is working on it.) Anyway, I stopped by Political this morning to drop off a link to the Library of Congress. This part of the LOC is called Thomas, after Thomas Jefferson.

You can read bills here at the LOC. And more. Facts. Reported directly to the American people. No slant. Either way. Just the Library of Congress doing its thing. Freedom of Information. And Thomas, of the LOC, provides just that and only that. Pure information. Information that provides us with what we need to form our own opinions. As individuals. (I see that they have a special link on the opening page for the health care bill.)
