WASHINGTON — Mike Flynn, President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, has told the Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional officials investigating the Trump campaign’s potential ties to Russia that he is willing to be interviewed in exchange for a grant of immunity from prosecution, according to officials with knowledge of the matter.

As an adviser to Trump’s presidential campaign, and later one of Trump’s top aides in the White House, Flynn was privy to some of the most sensitive foreign-policy deliberations of the new administration and was directly involved in discussions about the possible lifting of sanctions on Russia imposed by the Obama administration.

He has made the offer to the FBI and the House and Senate intelligence committees though his lawyer but has so far found no takers, the officials said. Flynn’s attorney, Robert Kelner, declined to comment.

Then there is this.....remember the dossier developed by the British spy that showed a number of things which include some personal stuff on Trump....

"The BBC has learned that US officials "verified" a key claim in a report about Kremlin involvement in Donald Trump's election - that a Russian diplomat in Washington was in fact a spy.
So far, no single piece of evidence has been made public proving that the Trump campaign joined with Russia to steal the US presidency - nothing.
But the FBI Director, James Comey, told a hushed committee room in Congress last week that this is precisely what his agents are investigating.
Stop to let that thought reverberate for a moment."

Trump Russia dossier key claim 'verified' - BBC News (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39435786)

Suddenly, actually today lots of breaking news.

By David C - March 16, 2017
April 2014 – Flynn is fired as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (“abusive with staff, didn’t listen, worked against policy, bad management, etc.” according to Colin Powell) (source:Washington Post).

October 2014 – Retaining his top-level national security clearance, Flynn founds Flynn Intel Group, a consulting firm, and starts performing intelligence work for foreign clients.

Late Summer 2015 – Flynn begins advising the Trump campaign (source:Washington Post).

August 2015 – Flynn receives a $15,000 speaking fee from Volga-Dnepr Airlines, a Russian airfreight company that the United Nations had suspended from its list of approved vendors after a corruption scandal involving an indicted Russian United Nations official (source:Washington Post).

October 2015 – Flynn receives an additional $15,000 speaking fee from the subsidiary of a Russian company specializing in “uncovering Western government spyware,” Kaspersky Lab. Ruslan Stoyanov, head of Kaspersky’s computer incidents investigation unit is later arrested in Russia, for treason, in December 2016 (source:Washington Post).

December 2015 – Seated directly at Vladimir Putin’s right hand, Flynn appears at a gala hosted by Kremlin-controlled Russia Today (RT). He receives more than $45,000 for participating in he event. The event occurred in Russia, and his travel and accommodations were covered (source:Washington Post).

February 2016 – Flynn is vetted as a possible Trump VP pick (source). He later attends classified intelligence briefings with candidate Trump (source:Washington Post).

August 2016 – Flynn signs a contract on with Inovo, a Dutch firm owned by Ekim Alptekin, the chairman of the Turkish-American Business Council. The council is run by an appointee of Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Flynn is assigned to investigate Fethullah Gulen, a Turkish cleric who lives in Pennsylvania and was blamed by Erdogan for helping instigate a failed coup. Flynn ultimately receives $530,000 before the contract terminated in November 2016 (source:Washington Post).

September 2016 – Flynn meets with Turkey’s ministers of foreign affairs and energy and other officials at an undisclosed New York hotel, in a meeting arranged by Alptekin (source:Washington Post).

November 8, 2016 – Flynn publishes a lengthy op-ed entitled “Our ally Turkey is in crisis and needs our support”. He states that “We need to see the world from Turkey’s perspective” and brands Gulen as “a radical Islamist”. Flynn did not disclose to the publisher that he was being paid by Inovo (source:Washington Post).

November 18, 2016 – Flynn accepts president-elect Donald Trump’s offer of the position of National Security Advisor.

Nov./Dec. 2016 – Flynn allegedly meets with Austrian far-right Freedom Party leader, Heinz-Christian Strache, at Trump Tower. Strache announces weeks later that his party has signed a cooperation agreement with Vladimir Putin’s ruling party. The Trump transition team later denied that the meeting occurred (source:Washington Post).

December 2016 – Flynn secretly discusses relief from U.S. sanctions with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak on the same day the Obama administration announced retaliatory measures in response to interference in the presidential campaign by the Russian government (source:Washington Post).

Flynn later lies about the discussions in an interview with the FBI, in January 2017 (source:Washington Post).

January 2017 – The Wall Street Journal reports that Flynn is under investigation by U.S. counterintelligence agents for his communications with Russian officials (source:Washington Post).

February 2017 – Flynn is forced out of his role as NSA after The Washington Post reports that Acting Attorney General Sally Yates had warned the Trump White House in late January that Flynn had not been truthful about his contacts with Russia related to sanctions and that he was vulnerable to blackmail by Russian intelligence. Yates is fired as acting Attorney General.

March 2017 – Flynn files papers acknowledging that he worked as a foreign agent in 2016 representing the interests of the Turkish government in a dispute with the United States. A House Oversight panel obtains documents detailing payments from Russian firms and requests an additional investigation, sending a letter detailing the allegations to Trump and the leaders of the Pentagon and FBI (source:Washington Post).

And, of course, the Trumpsters will deny that anything is amiss and blame the "liberal media", or Obama, or Hillary, or Bill Clinton, for everything....it would be a funny play on Broadway if it was not actually happening....

While certainly possible, asking for immunity typically is done because those asking for it...have info on and are ready to roll on 'bigger fish.'

Given Flynn's former position(s), the list of 'bigger fish'...is pretty darned short.

With what has happened to recent Putin critics and if Flynn has info tying Trump and/or his staff to Russia...I think he would be well served to get some protection.

Here are 10 critics of Vladimir Putin who died violently or in suspicious ways - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2017/03/23/here-are-ten-critics-of-vladimir-putin-who-died-violently-or-in-suspicious-ways/?utm_term=.1e0f73816dbf)

Ex-Trump adviser Flynn offers testimony if he gets immunity

I do not know what testimony Flynn would or would not provide?

I do wish if all those making claim to a Trump connection to Russia put up or shut up.

If Trump did something wrong then let's get to it. Otherwise many of us will simply wonder if this is an intentional maneuver by Trump's opposition to hold him hostage to innuendo..

I am sick of politicians political version of the dirty dozen being their only objective.

First of all, Flynn refuses to disclose what his testimony would be...without immunity first.

Secondly, this is an extremely serious issue and the investigation needs to be done properly...which takes time.

We realize that you and other Trump Cultists have already dismissed the seriousness of this issue and that even if Chump and/or his staff were proved to be in collusion with Putin...y'all would spin it and it wouldn't affect your support of him.

THAT UN-American response...is the real tragedy in all this. :ohdear:

Are you aware of what is going on ? Are you aware of the testimony by Clint Watts yesterday ? Are you aware of how the Russians "played" Trump during the campaign ?

I suggest you get up to date on what is happening.

Trump and campaign being investigated for POSSIBLE collusion.

Do you not want investigations after what we now know ? Do you not want investigation into any foreign country's interference in our process ? Do you not want to know whether one President wiretapped another ? Do you not want to know whether 5 million illegals voted ?

That takes time, and meanwhile the White House keeps creating havoc in their attempted cover up. Do you not want to know WHAT they are covering up ?

Are you not even a bit uncomfortable with open testimony that our President was so open to fake news and conspiracy theories, they actually monitored his activity to "feed" him, and HE WOULD PUBLICLY USE ?

It will take time, but I am shocked that any American would even say "put up or shut up" to what is happening. "Innuendo" is the key word to indicate your lack of what is happening. You sincerely believe that Trump is correct in everything and the entire world is against him ?

You don't care...that is damn scary

On the other hand, you are nothing more than a poor miserable and despondent liberal, that can't get closure on your election loss.

Sorry, all out of stuffed animals and safe rooms.

Hey, Mike Flynn stated that if you want immunity from prosecution that you are GUILTY. He now wants immunity! Depends on what foot is wearing the shoe?

Yes, Putin played Trumpf like a fiddle and now has his orange skinned puppy in the White House.

Be careful what you say about Rockyrd. He is one of the best political minds out there. You, MDLNB, are NOT!

Since you asked so nicely;

"...the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back. Because the Cold War has been over for 20 years."

"On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space."
"This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility."

Bill Clinton received a $500,000 speaking fee from a Russian bank tied to the Kremlin before Secretary of State Hillary Clinton helped decide whether to approve the sale to the Russian government of a company that held one-fifth of America’s uranium capacity.

Hillary Clinton presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a “reset button,” which she said “represents what President Obama and Vice President Biden and I have been saying and that is, 'We want to reset our relationship.' And so we will do it together.”

Eight months later, during a meeting with then-Russian President Dmitri Mevedev, Obama declared of US-Russian relations: “The reset button has worked.”

Frankly, I'm having a hard time understanding why dealing with the Russians is considered "bad".

Or is it only ok for American Socialists?

You seem to be a bit confused. No one is defending Putin, no one. However, a witch hunt against Trump and claiming he is guilty of something, based on liberal whim, is tantamount to arresting a drunk on his way to the bar. It's ridiculous. There has not been ANY evidence of Trump collusion with Putin. NONE. That is why, the only explanation for your idiocy is your inability to accept your election failure. It's called denial.
