I grew up surrounded by Chávez’s alternate reality. Now I’m watching one consume the United States.

To me, here is the key point in that article.

Trump did all of the above—constructing an alternate reality that gave his supporters a concise answer to their question, and the hope of a solution.

It doesn’t matter that it’s all bogus. To Trump voters, a fake reality—especially one laden with obvious enemies and golden promises—is better than nothing, or more of the same.

(TDS) However, since paranoia and the associated anxiety delusions result from what the medical experts term "lack of insight" one almost feels sad for progressives all because they actually believe all that the OP delivered. Totally agree. It is so disappointing to watch these leftards being so hysterical. This is a great example of Mass Hysteria. In this case, it is not a CIA experiment, rather a product of millions of bucks invested by Soros to perpetrate the easily deluded.

You had to have missed a large portion of the news if you are unaware of the Clinton/Soros connection. He was a major contributor to her campaign and according to Politico (which seems to be a favorite site with some on here ), it states that he has had a 25 year relationship with her. Sorry, I can't link with this device I'm using, but if you google it, it will come right up - a July 2016 article.

I realize after reading here and getting notice on some pm's that I am the real dumb guy on here, but please someone tell me the connection between Clinton/Soros and an author who is also an economist who grew up in a similar atmosphere in Venezuela.

Just allow me what is the connection or the importance of this.

Again, will go back to the dummie corner since nobody wants to discuss SYRIA...NAFTA or actually any issues of substance.

One that has the most effect on your party and the one that has pushed his commie agenda on many greedy left wing politicians. Soros also owns more liberal media networks, papers and magazines than Mcdonald's has sold burgers. Soros is a radical and a WWII war criminal that perpetrated vile deeds against his own people(Jews) when working with the Nazis. He is a destroyer of countries. A vulgar, nasty and evil man.
