Are you any more comfortable after seeing/listening to Obama?
I am not. I did not hear him answe the questions specifically asked. He took advantage of each question to re-iterate what he has said before. That is not a plus or a minus just a fact. In his attempts to debunk the so called myths/rumors all he did was present his opinion about the issues we have all had a problem with to date.
There was no discussion about how the reform would be funded other than there would be so much money saved as a result of the reform the new programs would not affect the deficit.
How could that possibly be true?
If you were convinced there would be no take aways for seniors and that there would be such savings to fund the reform, then please help me understand how.
I am not sure his folksy attempt to be one of the folks will be as readily accepted this time around as when he was running for office.
He did not address the question of whether the Dems would push the reform through with or without a bi-partisan support. At least not that I heard.
I am truly interested in other input that would suggest other than his train is still on the same track and trying to convince the audience, trust me, I am telling you what will or will not be.
I remain un-convinced. I await being enlightened.

I listened to it. It was so sad. This man has no idea what's in this bill that Congress has written for him. You can tell because he never answers a question specifically.
I think someone should tell him that his speeches are nolonger good enough. He has to know what he is talking about.
I have heard the President say many times, he wants a one-payer system (government only). He knows he has to get there in increments so that he can get it by. Nobody would vote for this except Democrats who are being threatened by Pelosi and Rahm, et al, with the except of the left Congressmen who are in the tank no matter what.
We have a vote folks. Let's do it 2010. Hopefully, nothing will be passed that cannot be reversed. I'm afraid if this debacle is passed before election that it will be too late for reversal. God help us.

What got my attention was what he said about Medicare in his first answer. Medicare is a government program (just like the public option), it is well run and popular. Fair enough, but in his opening remarks, he said that Medicare would be broke in seven years. So which is it?

I watched....on some things he confirmed what I already knew.
There are NO Death Panels but a clause that pays for the costs of you discussing what you want done at the end of your life. I already have a living will and I paid to have it prepared.
I found it some what funny that one of the 1st questions was from a guy on Medicaid or maybe the Mass Healthcare plan. Anyway he complained that he couldn't get the correct medicine...then later he said they had switched him to a generic statin but it wasn't as affective so they switched him back. I was not sure what his beef was.

In a just-completed New Hampshire town hall meeting, President Obama stated that he never said he supported a single-payer health care system. But as clearly evidenced by a video, in 2003, he declared: "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care plan."
He also dissed the Postal Service.
He is either a liar or he doesn't know what he really believes in.

Shof:
There were several recordings and quotes from Obama's past speeches. He just out and out lies hoping you all will believe him and not check it out.
Regarding the Medicare, it is NOT well run. There is so much theft and chicanery in it, it is going broke. Also, if Obamacare comes true, Medicare will be cut by 1.7T. So what that means is you will not get the procedures you could get now.
Regarding Death Boards, Cologal, READ THE BILL. Look, this Obamacare is unsustainable. That means overage in costs brings rationing. I can't sit here and read the bill for you. I'm sorry you don't believe what I am saying. But hopefully, you are in the minority this time.

I was not aware that there is a bill waiting for the president to sign. Since its not ready, a reasonable discussion of what should be in it is in order. And I think that reasonable is the key word.

I thought it sounded like he was stumping again for the next election! You're right, he never did specifically answer any of the questions... especially the one I wanted to know... How is it going to be paid for. But this is not about health care... this is about government control. I am worried sick of what this country is going to be like if this egomaniac gets what he wants!

and it's blind support of the current administration. They do have the unfair advantage to shape the future by promoting the agenda, presenting out of context statements/videos/conclusions/allegations, ignoring ANY opposing factors/factions/presence.
Some how the media's role smacks of being more un-American than those accused of what is taking place in the recent town hall meetings.
The media has a distorted ability to lead the masses thinking.....as too many just do not (think that is!!). The media relies on a parroting following and statistically they have the numeric advantage.
