If you walk your dog on the polo fields and the dog goes to the bathroom, do you have to pick it up? Asking because no one picks up after the horses.

They do after the games. Clean up after the horses.

And yes you are supposed to pick up after your dog goes around the Polo Field. Pooches are not allowed actually on the Polo Field. Just on the road around it. And the times are limited when dogs are allowed even on that road.

Yes

There is a cop there at the Polo Field once in a while looking for speeders, taking a break or doing something else but have never seen them come out and give someone not picking up the dog poop a ticket for this.

Seems to be law that is not all that enforced. They have something posted at Paradise Lake Park too that you have to pick up the poop but I have never seen a cop patrolling the park on poop duty.

There are busybodies there once in a while though who will bug you if you do not clean up your dog's poop. I try to always pick up Beau's or Sport's -- the dog we had before Beau.

Does a dog owner have to pick up a doggie's business on the front lawn a new home if no one is living in it? Apparently some don't think so because when I closed on my home I had to pick it up!

You seldom can tell if people are snowbirds or not. Or, if the house is vacant unless they forget to keep the lawn kept up to par. It should not matter. Pick it up wherever your dog goes.

I have been told by vets that when a dog has diarrhea to keep the dog away from other animals, especially a doggy park.

Parvo is caused by the canine parvovirus type 2. The virus is very contagious and attacks the gastrointestinal system, causing fever, vomiting and severe, often bloody, diarrhea. It is spread by direct contact between dogs as well as by contaminated stool, surfaces, bowls, collars, leashes, equipment, and the hands and clothing of people. It can also survive in the soil for years, making the virus hard to kill. Treating parvo can be very expensive and many dogs die from parvo despite intensive treatment.

Of course! You must ALWAYS pick up after your dog!
It is a privilege that dogs are allowed to be walked on a leash on the roadways and MM paths in The Villages.
Don't ruin it for everyone else!

I would guess not, :) but it is good to keep your dog away from horse poo.

I contacted the authorities and received the answer. No, you do not have to pick up dog poop. You do however have to shape it into little sculptures depicting your home state, mark it with those little flags you can buy at Lowes, and put a blue cheese stuffed olive on top of your artwork. I know it sounds weird but rules is rules.

Then it would start moving by itself due to the dung beetles around here. They at least are moving quicker than snails at times.

I saw this first years ago at Doggie Doo Run Run and was taken aback as that **** was moving!!!

Holy crow, crap? The new neighbor across the street walked her 3 pound dog on our lawn, the little cutie pie did her thing and they turned and went home. Mrs Nucky almost levitated. We figured the lady went home to get a bag to pick it up but no return visit. After we finished our dinner we fed Barney our 96 lb Boxer and gave him 4 small Milkbones and brought him across the street and he did his thing and as I was walking home the guy yelled out to me hey pick up after your dog, I just said you better speak with your wife. Neighbors are important to me. I really don't want any problem but I don't want to talk about this in person or on TOTV. Common sense should prevail.

We mended fences immediately. I would never ever do that but we have had a couple of rough days and I guess that was the last straw. Very nice people she just made a mistake, all is forgiven. I went over and picked up what we left behind.

The only difference between dog poop and cigarette butts is that the butts don't stick to your shoes. There are a lot more butts on the ground than poop though.

And the butts are much worse for the environment even if I really hate it when I step in dog poop which seems to have about once a month at Doggie Doo Run Run as some people are sometime too busy to mark their dog's poop with a flag. I must admit that once in a while I do the same thing though as there are some people there I enjoy talking to quite a bit. And a few of these Beau loves.

Stepped into some unflagged dog poop at Doggie Doo Run Run this morning. Hope I am good for month now.

Beau played a little bit with Ginger on her way into the park.

I have been going there since November 2006 when I visited a dog adoption event they were having and ran into Holly with Petie. Did not know her name at that time.
