Another direct hit to the credibility hull of Obama's health care argument.

He argued that preventive diabetic foot care pays Drs a pittance while the surgeon who amputates the diabetic foot "deposits 30 thousand dollars directly into their account". Well, the American College of Surgeons responded quickly: the medicare reimbursement for the surgeon for this procedure is LESS than 1000 dollars.

So, he was only off by a factor of 30.

Too late to right this ship.

I don't know if any of you know how medicaid works. I had a client who was a kidney transplant patient. They had health insurance which was quickly maxed out of the lifetime benefits which at that time was $1 million. So they applied for medicaid, they were told to either sell their house or remortgage it. After their savings and their house was gone they would qualify for medicaid. So they bit the bullet and just continued to work, both of them. They were going to hold onto their home as long as they could. My father warned me about men like him. Listen to them brag and then check the facts.

Ann, you need to clarify.
"I had a client who was a kidney transplant patient." Were you a medical, legal, financial, or other type of advisor to your client? What is your expertise?

"My father warned me about men like him." Who is 'him', what did he say and what did he do? And why did your father warn you?

"Listen to them brag and then check the facts." Who is them? What are they bragging about? What facts are you referring to?

Ann, I am not trying to pick on you. I deplore personal attacks on this forum and we have had far too many of them. I am simply asking for clarification. And, yes I know all too well how Medicaid works.
