I've lived here over 2 years now and have always had some trouble with my garage door openers. Seems I've had to replace the batteries every 2 or 3 weeks. Well, now one of them won't even work with new batteries.

So, where can I get new garage door openers? Someone told me there is a place on Rolling Acres Road in back of the Remax place, but just driving down Rolling Acres I have not seen it.

It's the Ro-Mac Lumber Yard, 722 Duck Lake Road - The Villages, FL 32159. Assuming you have a RoMac garage door opener. It's on the opposite side of the street of the Woodworking Shop and you will see the large trucks filled with, and inventory of the roof trusses used in the construction of the houses here. When you turn into their lot go as far back as you can, you will see two buildings at the end of the driveway and they are behind a chain link fence. Go into the office and they will help you. If you go to their web site they have an aerial photo. The road on the right of the picture that runs top to bottom is Rolling Acres. The seperate building on the left of the picture is your destination.

You can buy them just about any hardware store. They sell ones that work with virtually any model door.

About five years ago when our home was less than a year old, one of our garage door openers quit working. I called Romac, since their name was on the unit. They sent a tech by the next day, he said they had gotten a batch with bad batteries and he replaced both our remotes batteries for free. Both remotes are still working on the original batteries he installed.

If you do a search on this site, there are 1 or 2 garage door repair people that get rave reviews. I would contact them, and have them service your doors and remotes.

Both Ryan O'Cull and Masters Touch (Jeff, Ryan's dad) will come out and set up a new garage door opener. I know Jeff charges $35 for the opener, not sure what Ryan charges.
