"5. Project Description:
a. Project Scope/Description (please be as detailed as possible):
A multi-lane extension of Buena Vista Blvd. south of SR 44 and to terminate at C-468."
OK! Now how about the multi-modal path going south? No mention of it in the details! What details!

How will carts cross SR44, tunnel or bridge?

Maybe a cart bridge replica of the Tobin bridge in Boston. Yeah!

Not to get the natives restless, but just who do you think will be paying for that bridge? :$: :$:

No bridge...tunnels @ Morse and 44 with another @ Buena Vista and 44....tunnels just like they did on 466 & 466a.

Obviously this is still in the early stages of design. The drawing they reference in the FDOT document is little more than a cocktail napkin drawing.

No Chi. The Morses aren't adverse to paying for some road broadening as they did along 466A when they added the homes built on the Dairy Farm a couple of years ago. Nothing like a good Capitalist venture funding a successful metropolitian area built and run by a good Capitalist Family.
Go Morses.

I think they should just build it all the way to Orlando---saves time on future expansion:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

People are flooding to Florida. We are now the second most populous state, just behind California and ahead of New York. Someone is going to build it.
I would rather the Morses build it and it is a group of mostly over 55, mostly sane people than have patches and bunches built by other developers who will have the breeders moving in.
Now before you jump on me, everyone knows I love kids, but I love living in this community with folks of the same age, even those who form clubs of those younger to keep my age out. I love the way the Morses build things and run things.
YOU knew that Doc.

I agree. Except that we are 3rd in population, Texas has many more people, and we are way behind Calif.

I could give a darn who builds the road. Just find it interesting that a detailed description is requested resulting in the briefest of replies with no mention of a multi modal trail. As no Federal dollars are requested, I suppose the design will have greater flexibility to including a trail. We pay for everything here!

Everyone seems to focus on golf carts going under/over 44. To get all the way to Fenney, Buena Vista (vehicles and golf carts) must also cross over/under the Turnpike. And golf carts also cross 468.

Better sell those electric golf carts while there is still a market.

If I recall there was a recent article (or a mention) of an application for multiple RT 44 crossing for golf carts. I did NOT read the article, and I have lost the reference, so I do not know if these were at grade (OMG!!!), tunnels or bridges.
There is a lot of confusing information (or misinformation?) on this entire expansion, for example the last info I saw on 468 was NO golf cart lanes, but since much of the land between Fenny and Brownwood will be Villages it would not be unreasonable to see parallel GC paths like on Buena Vista and Morse.
Looking forward to all of the future discussion.

Golf carts are usually the vehicle of choice on a golf course. Not suited well for bicycles.

It's only 8 miles.....SS is farther for me and our electric goes there just fine. Not sure what the draw would be to go the Oaks of Fenny unless they have spectacular golfing.....or substantial commercial presence.

Yep, straight to Eisenhower recreation center which was built to accommodate the existing housing north of SR 44. Fenny has no comparable recreation center so traffic will not be reciprocated and overcrowding will result at all recreation centers north of SR44 and 466A. Thanks Morse family ! You sold us on the amenities and soon it'll go bust.

I would assume that the planning of this extension is a way to reassure those purchasing homes south of 44 that there will be an easy way to connect to the main body of The Villages. At some point in time as the numbers grow to the south, I would imagine a new major rec center will be build south of 44.

I thought the rec center with the resort pool was going to be a regional.

They will only have neighborhood pools. No regional. The Morse's concluded that if the Fennyites want real amenities they'll travel north by automobile to get them. Thanks Morse family !

With all of this property the Village Developer has purchased, there will be other Villages south of 44 besides the two that have been announced. Who knows what additional property will be purchased and what other plans are in the "pipeline". As long as we live it will be interesting to watch.

I have heard from multiple real estate agents that there will be at least one new country club south of 44. I don't think there will be a 4th town square. There will be at least 4 new executive courses, two of which have already been started.

IMO just hope the developers keep building south all the to Orlando for all I care, so they won't crap on district 3 and 4 again. Over 8400 residents with only two rec centers, basically ones north of El Camino Reno. No other districts has to travel as far to get to the next rec enter. Probably pass at least three. Glenview and Lopez don't count privately owned by the families. Savannah center don't count NO residents recreational facilities.. So the next down would be saddlebrook or Santiago. Which is in another district add 7000 plus more residents. IMO Miss tutt doing good job making sure the law suit money going to be spent on developer property over by Rio grand pool, they already have plenty of rec centers available in district one and two close.
Ok let's here it?? DONT LIKE IT MOVE! NO!!!!! I DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT!

A. It is what it was when you bought there so you have no reason to complain, if you didn't like the amount of available amenities that existed/were planned when you bought there you maybe should have reconsidered. Don't try to make someone else pay for your own short sightedness. And don't blame the realtors because "they said..." or "they promised us...", they're not much higher on the food chain that a used car salesman, they'll do or say almost anything to make a sale.
B. The "developer" has absolutely no obligation to build additional amenities there beyond what was agreed to for the new CYVs that are being added in District 4. Their work is done there.
Could/should there have been more amenities and recreation centers farther north, very few would disagree in my opinion. Will anything ever happen? Perhaps only if the AAC decides to build some, but the developer kicking in a nickel, not very likely.
Regardless of the merits of the case, when the districts north of 466 decided to sue the developer because they were unhappy with the deal that was agreed to, they pretty much signed away any additional support possibilities for the developer. Anyone else would feel the same, kick them in the teeth and then ask them for help, not happening.
