Must be a slow news day if this story tops the list.

The issue according to the article posted was a dispute about (1) a claim of price gouging by the paint company. (2) and a subsequent argument of price gouging by the plaintiff's lawyers.

These are both ubiquitous arguments world wide.

I am familiar enough with lawsuits to say that a decision by a judge is not always made based on objective and factual evidence. I can also tell you that legal expenses( billable hours, hourly rate, level of handling, expenses ,etc) is consistently a matter of view and disagreement.

Simply stated because a judge or jury rules a certain way doesn't mean the plaintiff or defendant in criminal cases was right.

I mean look at the OJ and Casey Anthony cases

I have a serious question for you.

Do you defend Trump blindly and totally on everything he does, or is it my imagination ?

To even respond to this shows a bit of....I don't know what to call it....a "man crush" that you seem to have on him.

He is a rich man, and is now President. He will get sued at every chance. He is open to scrutiny, not as you claim from some syndrome or something, but because of his ENTIRE LIFE. He has wallowed in the gutter, both personally and professionally, and I can assure you more "shoes will drop".

Why you would waste your time on this is another indication of your love.

By the way, I did notice your partial plagiarism from the Boston Globe on Wellsley, and you now are even using student quotes to go after your "nemesis"

Which reminds me, I think I saw TWO instances of you chastising posters for calling names.

Does calling "progressives" names, or accusing ALL progressives of bad things constitute calling names ? And don't you think if you are going to allow yourself that liberty, you should be a bit more specifi ?

See, if I were a progressive (probably am in a few issues) I would take great offense to your general all encompassing attacks. Actually, I find your attacks on serious patriotic Americans who share simply a different view than you, much much worse then your criticizing one individual troll or poster who made the error of calling names. See, to me, when you attack such a large group of Americans, and do so with no facts or backups, and allow ALL to be trapped in your net, that is pretty low isn't it ?

Might be better to follow what you preach and speak to topics, WHICH YOU AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE WHILE TELLING EVERYONE THAT YOU WANT TO DISCUSS TOPICS......instead of attacking such a large group of fellow Americans. I again the lack of search ability because I have directly confronted you on several topics, not people, not parties, just a topic or two, and you choose to ignore me.

Of course, a lawsuit against Trump gets your attention.

I would think that most people here in The Villages would look to buy insurance from someone who is a Republican. Just my guess. I imagine most home insurance is purchased from the Morse Family.

Is there much activity from the Teachers Union here?

Did anyone see that Betsy DeVos is working to overturn the Obama directives that allowed people to not pay back their school loans in many cases? I like Betsy DeVos.

First of all, do you really honestly check your insurance agents registration card ?

I think most, if not all buy insurance that allows the best coverage at the best price.

Gracie, you would be surprised...you shouldn't be, but based on your posts....you would be surprised. The folks running business here are not lock step with the family OR FOR SURE the Republican Party.

On Devos, what she did was this. The previous admin was trying to stream line the process and make it easier...here is a link for you.

"At issue is which companies will handle the bulk of those loans in the future, and how they will do it. Under the Obama administration, the Education Department was on the verge of selecting a single vendor to build a new system for servicing its student loans, in what was expected to be one of the largest federal contracts outside of the military.

But on Tuesday, Ms. DeVos signed an order rescinding key parts of that attempt to streamline the system — essentially hitting the reset button on the Obama-era plan.

Good read if you are truely interested and wondering hey you like Devos.

This may help. I am uncertain. She is a billionaire, not a friend oF public education, nor title 9.....,

" The people who best know the education advocacy work ofBetsy DeVos, the billionaire tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to be his education secretary, are in Michigan, where she has been involved in reform for decades.

DeVos is a former Republican Party chairwoman in Michigan and chair of the pro-school-choice advocacy group American Federation for Children, and she has been a shining light to members of the movement to privatize public education by working to create programs and pass laws that require the use of public funds to pay for private school tuition in the form of vouchers and similar programs. She has also been a force behind the spread of charter schools in Michigan, most of which have recorded student test scores in reading and math below the state average.

A sobering look at what Betsy DeVos did to education in Michigan — and what she might do as secretary of education - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2016/12/08/a-sobering-look-at-what-betsy-devos-did-to-education-in-michigan-and-what-she-might-do-as-secretary-of-education/?utm_term=.6d372bcede87)

This sailed right over your head, which is good as it wasn't directed at you. It was meant for another poster, not you, Bucco, and it was meant to be a little...vague and slightly puzzling. Unless I'm wrong that is.
