Did anyone else smell what I smelled when delivering the morning paper to my wife this Easter morning? I looked at the forecast for our brief return to Ohio which shows many a rainy day. Hope Florida receives some good rains before our return. Be safe out there in these dry conditions, no fires, and happy Easter.

I live in La Reynalda and the smoke smell is bad here. I was told it was from fires in the Ocala Forest.

If it is just a forest fire, why does it have the acrid smell of burning plastic????

It's 8:10 and I opened my lanai doors and the smoke smell was very heavy. See thick smoke in the direction of where the new Lowes is going in on 466A. Would they be burning today....Sunday...Easter Sunday?

Bad smoke smell in Charlotte, too. Had to close the lanai doors and can still smell it in the house.

No plastic smell.
Oh, contrare. Maybe it's just in my location. From here, the thickest smoke appears to be in the northeast. Maybe it's rocket fuel from little fat man-boy's failed missile launch:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

The fumes are very strong on our lanai in Lynnhaven. Feel it is irritating my eyes. Prayers for those in its wake and the firefighters who are contending with the fires.

I know. To me it smelled like more than just wood. It almost has that burnt electrical motor smell.:yuck:

It's from brush fires along hwy 44 in Lake County! It's bad in Amelia as well. The guy on the radio says he's getting calls from ALL over The Villages asking about it.

Five hundred acres are burning near Mount Dora in Lake County.

This is the smoke from the largest current fire
in the state. If you've got breathing problems you should consider staying inside today. We desperately need rain as do those fighting these fires. At least the wind is down today.

We have a house up in Country Club Hills. Is there any talk of evacuation? We're in Ohio.

No. Not near at all. No talk of evacuation, no talk of danger. No need to worry.
It is thirty miles from here at this time.
I hope no other treacherous soul starts a fire. We really need rain.
And while we're at it...Here is a warning for all;
When it does rain for any appreciable amount after this long dry spell.
We will have sinkholes.
and it won't be the developers fault.

We live near 466A and the smell at our house was pretty strong this morning. But then we went to the Spanish Springs area and did not smell it at all. We are back to our house now, and I don't smell smoke here anymore.

I smelled the smoke this morning around 7:00 am in Santiago. It looked smoky over El Santiago golf course. As the breeze picked up, the smell began to disappear.

Yeah, but you can bet anything that someone will throw shade at the Morse's for it.

Pardon me ma'am but I'm not from these part's for very long. I just moved here last year for a whole lot of reasons but the biggest one was you couldn't see the air in The Villages. Seeing the smoke and smelling the rotten acrid smell of burning plastic is like a Tiptoe Through The Tulips for us, sorta reminds us of home. Hope everyone involved is ok.
