It's time to stop lurking and get serious. We are meeting out sales rep on Wednesday morning and we will be looking at property (not playing golf or swimming) until we find the right one, meaning the one that she likes. And fine one we will. We are determined to have a sales agreement before we leave and we plan to be Village residence by Veterans day. The only other commitment we've made is the TOTV get together at Crispers on Friday. it's time to meet some real Villagers. TOTV is the best.

You sound like we did. No fun at first, just down to business. It worked for us and we bought 4 months after our 1st visit. BUT, I would not set a time table!! Look at what they show you, then research, research, research. I used the google earth, etc to look at things like how close to things important to us, powerlines, main roads, railroad, etc. Look at Reality Sites, find the best place at the best deal. If you rush, you may miss your ideal house! Good luck!

We did buy this trip. It was seven months after our first visit. We researched every aspect we could find. TOTV was an invaluable tool. We looked at VLS homes and MLS homes. We found the Village sales agent very helpful and we were suprised at the number and quality of the MLS selections. In the end we bought a large VLS home ( really a very big kitchen with a house around it) in the Village of Silver Lake. Closing is September 28 and we will become real Villagers before Veterans Day. So we are wannabes no longer.
Now we are packers and movers...such fun. What do we keep, what do we sell, what do we throw away.
Oh yes...we did get to Crispers where we met many of the TOTV folks while we waited for the storm to subside. I'll still be checking TOTV every day to get more questions answered and possibly helping some wannabes get to paradise. :2excited:

That was the plan I had last Christmas.....and we did it...bought in the village of hadley and will be full time in February!

MrMrsMagoo, if you don't have your glasses on and are lost in Hadley, just walk to the very end of Ellenton and listen for the barking Schnauzers and knock on the door.... I'll have the coffee waiting!! Good luck can't wait to meet you in Feb......
