Just had Jim Baumgartner and Jay out to look at our irrigation system and make recommendations. They were excellent. Knew exactly what to do, replaced what was necessary and we VERY reasonable. There is a reason why he doesn't advertise. He doesn't need to. If you are having a problem give him a call (352) 504-2317.

Home Depot and Lowe's have all the irrigation & PVC fittings to do the job yourself. If you can cut plastic pipe & glue a joint much money can be saved.

There is a DIY solution to most problems, but many of us can't fix every problem. Jim is an excellent resource for those who can't cut and glue. My hand is raised. I can't.

Please don't say you can't unless you have tried!

I'm with you, especially after getting an estimate from him for almost $3,000 to adjust my Courtyard villa irrigation

That's absurd. A whole new system typically goes for $350 per zone.

That's why I kept shopping around and had an adequate job done for $600

What did you get for your $600.00?

I guess it's like the difference between a Rolls Royce and a Chevy ? I'm fine with a middle of the road irrigation system.

But what did you get? Just a walk around adjustment or a number of replacement heads?

We also found that Jim has a big ego and patronizing attitude and have since recommended Joe Tucker for sprinkler repairs in stead. There's no denying Jim is an excellent mechanic.

Please don't use the term "mechanic" when referring to a person who repairs and/or installs residential sprinklers. The learning curve on this handyman job is about 4 weeks whereas a real mechanic ( machinery repairman ) typically goes through a lengthy apprenticeship of from 4 to 7 years including formal classroom education and progressive certifications before becoming a journeyman which includes ongoing education throughout his or her career. Mechanics also consult with and/or assist electrical and mechanical engineers with newer innovations, designs and field testing.
