This was in the Letters to the Editor section of our newspaper back home this morning. Any input, please.

funny that the proposed obama health care plan is entitled HR-3200. Usually a bill being considered is designated HB-xxxx or SB-xxxx, depending whether it originates in the House or the Senate. The HR-xxxx denotes a House Resolution. Can anyone explain why the unknown authors of this conglomeration of bad ideas chose to call it a Resolution instead of a Bill? (Is it because a Resolution can be approved by voice vote, where the Speaker of the House can ram a resolution by stating "the ayes have it" even if there is a loud resounding "NAY" from a majority of the House members (same in Senate)? While a Bill must be approved by actual votes in either house? (Not sure of the rules there).

So, if I understand correctly what this says, HR3200 is a bill and not a resolution.

that health care reform fits so well under the examples given as a "simple" resolution.
