The Villages Parrothead Club will be hosting a Blood Drive on 5/11/2017 from 9AM - 4PM at Fire Station #44 on Morse Blvd. S/O 466A. Your Blood is needed. Donors will receive Movie Tickets, Hot Dogs and liquid refreshments. Remember it only takes about an hour and you'll be saving up to 3 lives with your donation. Hopefully not but someday you or a family member may need blood yourself.
Walk ins are welcome. Hope to see you there.

I am not a physician but am throwing this out there. I have been donating blood since 1985 and "signs of dementia" has never been one of the concerns raised that I can recall.

Think it's a good idea to let the Blood Drive people tell you IF your not qualified to give . They ask you a ton of questions and IF there is any doubt they'll tell you not to donate. Also your Blood is tested before it's transfused to anyone and if there's a problem they won't use it and will let you know about it before you donate again. Also been donating on and off since the 70's.

They do ask you a lot of questions before you can donate blood. Wish I could get used to their new computer tablet touch screen. I liked the paper format more.
Once in a while I fly through the 50 or so questions they ask on the laptop; other times the person doing the checking in helps me with the thing.
I usually do platelets where you can donate these 24 times a year max. These machines are usually at the One Blood Centers. Platelet Donation (https://www.oneblood.org/about-donating/blood-donor-basics/donation-methods/platelet-donation.stml)
