irrigation???

I have 6 zones in my irrigation, when I tried to run it this morning zone 1 would not come on....I could advance it thru the next 5 zones and all worked fine...I took the covers off to expose the selonoids for all 6 zones...and I could hear zone 1 clicking on but no water??? any ideas?

Clicking, does not mean the valve is opening-all it means the magnet/solenoid is engaging

Most valves can be operated manually, with some resistance, to the open or closed position. You might see if that will allow Zone 1 to spray as you expect. If so but it will not activate electrically with the controller, then most likely you need a new valve. My valve box (from 2001) needed all three valves replaced by the time 2015 came around. They would work great until without warning, one would fail. Not too difficult to change if you have done that before. Or you might want to do a search on here for folks that do irrigation system maintenance. They would charge you but can do it much easier than most of us. Jim Baumgarter (352-504-2317) is one of them. Another is Joe Tucker (352-430.-5615).

Had same problem. I had a zone controller that was not being used in my box. Rewire the value to an unused zone. If you do not have an extra rewire to any zone to test to see if the problem is at the value or control box.
