I am not taking sides - just a prediction. Next step is a major crisis in Syria or North Korea. Guns a blazing and deployment of troops. We as Americans will need to rally around as a show of patriotism i.e. diversion from the investigation. If so think about the men that will be put in harms way for ?

I hope not. Those who do not remember history or doomed to repeat it.

I pray strongly you are not correct.

I am very confused. According to, and I suppose more will come out, but from what I read in Trump's letter, after doing his predicted little personal thing, he fired him for what he praised him for, not just during the campaign but at least twice since the election.

I suppose investigation into Trump and associates goes away suddenly.

I think this country TRUELY looks everyday like the proverbial "Banana Republic"

Those posters who love Trump over and above the law or anything will surely praise him.

It would be of significance to get commentary before all the talking heads digest it and second guess and paint it partisan.

But then again far too many have no opinion until they get their talking points or their direction from the media or their cronies in Washington.

Comey should have been fired last summer when he decided to give Clinton a pass.
He deserves being fired. Too bad he was not let go day one.

Another puppet's strings cut!!

Donald John Trump is a salesman. His position changes with whatever he is selling at that time.

From Michael Schmidt of NYT.

"WH and DOJ had been working on firing Comey since at least last week. Sessions had been working to come up with reasons."

Interesting that the letter from the assistant to Trump was dated TODAY.

From Bill Kristol

"The Rosenstein memo is dated...today. So there was no real recommendation from DOJ. Trump wanted to do it, and they created a paper trail."

Please read Trumps letter...BIZARRE

To high five ?

Preston said, “[O]ne really big winner in all this…the winner is Vladimir Putin. Because you know that they’re laughing right now over in Russia. They are looking at us right now, and they’re saying, look at — what we did by affecting the election, by toying with their election, continues to have dominoes drop. … So, regardless of what happens, and why he was — why Director Comey was dismissed, we do know that Vladimir Putin right now, is pretty happy about what’s going on.”

CNN's Preston: Putin Is 'The Winner' In Comey Firing - Breitbart (http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/05/09/cnns-preston-putin-is-the-winner-in-comey-firing/)

President Trump may meet with Russia’s top diplomat at the White House on Wednesday, according to a new report.

The potential huddle would be the highest level, face-to-face contact between Trump and the Russian government so far, The Associated Press said Tuesday.

I didn't think it was possible, but Trump's Bizarro World...just became more bizarre.

Trump owes Comey for getting him elected by publicly speaking about Hillary's e-mails right before the election, of which Trump was grateful, but now the stated reason Chump is giving for Comey's firing is because...wait for it... Comey's unfair treatment of Hillary before the election?! :22yikes:

Only the most ignorant and dedicated Trump cultists, would refuse to believe that it's because Comey is getting too close to the truth...about Chump and the Russians.

The only, even close, precedent to what Trump has just done, was Nixon firing Cox...and we all know how that turned out, now don't we?

Make up your mind. The left demanded that Comey resign. Trump did them a favor and fired him. Now, they are mad at Trump. Is the left run by disgruntled ex-wives?

Even you aren't dumb enough to believe that pathetic spin attempt.

Trump is on record as LOVING Comey when he torpedoed Hillary right before the election and all but handed Chump the win, by talking about her investigation.

It's pretty obvious that Trump (and his cultists) are shaking in their boots at Comey possibly getting closer to tying Chump directly with Russia.

That's OK though, as Chump is showing that he's totally divorced from reality and still doesn't understand that he's not a dictator, nor the unassailable head of his own company...and that he can't weasel out of the crosshairs so easily.

Deepest Sincere Wishes:

The right is run by a bunch of young wives kissing the feet of their wealthy husbands for fear of upsetting their thin skin lunacy. In their minds. stupidity has no bounds. Lying is the only way to fly.

Please get your facts straight.

The LEFT, as you refer to them, did NOT demand his resignation.

Only one I can think of is Harry Reid who specifically did not call for him to leave until pressed.

THEY DID express dissatisfaction with his decision making but it is quite a stretch to say that the LEFT called for any dismissal.

Listen, I and many others have problems with Comey, but his reputation is impeccable relative to withstanding political pressure.

He stood against George Bush along with Ashcroft on the Bush admin wanting to continue eavesdropping under intense pressure. If you recall his famous visit to Ashcroft in the hospital.

He has always been praised by both sides as a man who follows the facts, not matter the political landscape. He definitly, under the FBI rules spoke out of turn on Clinton, by the way, praised and lauded by President Trump and his followers, and he has explained his reasons for doing so.

If you read editorial writings by conservatives and even the Presidents own words, you find him lauded for being a man who does not bend to political pressure.

Both sides have criticized him, but your characterization is just that....YOUR characterization.

I sure hope that we now do not spend days damaging a mans reputation on behalf of Trump. That always seems to be the case.

Let me be extremely clear, because I take great offense at being called a hypocrite.

I have spoken against Trump since well before he got the nomination...well before.

I have outlined on here his disputable dishonorable life.

I speak to the fact that President Trump has always said he never forgets and he gets even. He has shown that quite terrible trait many times in his life, in the campaign and sadly in our Whit House.

I just feel that to defame and attack a man in this situation is greatly a terrible mean spirited thing to do.

Oct. 30, 2016: Then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada,accused Comey of breaking the Hatch Act.
Oct. 31, 2016: The next day, Rep.Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee, said something similar to Reid’s and called for Comey to resign his FBI post. Cohen repeated that call in a Nov. 3 opinion column in The Hill.
Nov. 2, 2016: Sen. Chuck Schumer, told Bloomberg news that he had lost confidence in Comey for his handling of Clinton’s email investigation. Said he no longer had confidence in him.
The same day, Pelosi, commented similarly on CNN and suggested Comey may lose his job.
Jan. 13, 2017:Rep.Hank Johnson, D-Georgia, who at the time said, “My confidence in the FBI director’s ability to lead this agency has been shaken."
Maxine Waters saidy: “The FBI director has no credibility.”
Jan. 24,2017: Rep.G.K.Butterfield, D-North Carolina, said "I think that Comey needs to fade away into oblivion.“

Comey was not performing his job properly, the Dems and Repubs wanted him gone, and Trump made it happen. What's the big deal? Other presidents have done the same thing.

Fine, I agreed. What point are you making ? I understand and certainly know that OTHER THAN TRUMP, he got a lot of grief. Part if the job, I fear, but you obviously are so hung up on defending whatever Trump does, you are basically offering nothing new here. You narrow this issue nod ignore the substance totally.

Yes, oft criticized...did you read what is being said today about him ? But then again, as I have been saying...you are always putting Trump before the country. This incident alone speaks to his lies and lack of character.....his behavior yesterday with the Russians was objectionable on so many levels.

This morning I received an email from a high school friend, who served Two tours in Vietnam, and supported Trump in the election. He expressed to me disgust at a President of the USA conducting himself with an enemy country and embarrassing our country. His final comment was, in humor, I hope a pollen calls me today. Means nothing but it just came to mind.

But thanks for whatever...nobody has ever denied the shots taken at Comey over the years. Why, when, etc remain questions.
