In Massachusetts saw perfect stop signs for The Villages. Only really saw them in one city. As a car approaches the stop sign LED flashing red lights start in motion all around the sign. Wow, it for sure gets your attention. We could use things in The Villages!

Why???? The problem isn't that cars, carts, and cyclists don't SEE the stop signs, the problem is that they IGNORE them

Agree! Same holds true for the signs at the round-a-bouts.

I might disagree. At our summer residence there are LED signs that light up and show your speed as you approach a town. Some even have smiley/frowny faces, depending on your speed. Some start out red and turn to green as you reach the right speed. People always slow down, even though there's no police enforcement. My DH, for instance. Who knew earning a smiley face would make him so happy?

We have the LED signs that show your speed here, too. And they are helpful, as it is fairly easy to find yourself traveling a bit too fast. But lighted STOP signs? Is someone gonna forget what the red and white signs mean? "I'm sorry officer, I didn't see that sign that is four times the size of my head."
Peabrains. This state is full of peabrains.

While I'm sure some people see the signs and simply choose to ignore them, how in the world can making them more visible for the aging population that we have around here...be a bad thing?

We have (at least) one town that has outlawed the detonation of nuclear weapons within town limits. Now let's be straight, it's apparently ok to set em off, one town over. And of course, if the Russians or Chinese or Italians or whoever, decide to attack, they will be brought up short by the town police.

Peabrains.

Now that is a stupid law. Kind of like passing a law against foreign conquest.

Interestingly when the lights go off your natural instincts is to believe that a cop just caught you speeding whether you are speeding or not. the speed limit calibrator I passed was placed on Rio Grande just a half block from Del Mar( just while passing from Sumter County to Lake County) what a good idea
