What happened to summer at least here in northern Ohio. The high temp today was 60 and tonight and tomorrow night they are saying the temp overnight will be in the 40's. The wind was out of the north so it felt colder. Hay this is still August. I have not had the air conditioner on in the house at all this summer. So much for global warming.

This is the summer that NEVER WAS !!! Here in Northern Michigan they are calling for 34 degrees tonight............Have had the boat out three times all summer (excuse me, I should say sense memorial day !) I should have stayed in The Villages instead of returning to this......
Anyway in two more weeks I'll laugh at all this and start living again.....It is so much fun throwing pebbles at all the dogs in the area . (pebbles is a cat ) and riding my alleged legal golf cart nearly 27 mph ...I even look forward to the Plexiglas floorboard in my cart to see if I recognize the person I just ran over, It'll be so much fun I can hardly wait....

Sometimes I channel surf the television behind me while I sit at this desk and browse TOTV. (My chair spins around. I am such a multi-tasker.)
Anyway, I had just spotted this thread about this long, cool summer we are having in so many places, when my remote landed on an old movie....
"The Seven Year Itch"
If you know the movie, you know it was a long, hot summer in NYC. And just as my remote hit the channel, Tom Ewell was inviting Marilyn Monroe to come into his apartment just to cool off.
Poor Marilyn was soooo hot and she had been telling him all about how difficult that had been for her, and Tom Ewell, being the perfect gentleman, wellllll what else can he do? He has no choice but to come to the rescue of Marilyn, the hot damsel in distress. She has no air conditioning in her apartment.
Tom Ewell goes on and on a bit while they are standing out in the hall. He tells Marilyn how important he believes it is to have air conditioning in every room. He says air conditioning is necessary, even if you have to sell the kids' bonds to get it. (What a line, huh.)
Just think, if the summer had been this cool in 1955 "The Seven Year Itch" might never have been.

Oh fer goodness sake, Boomer, just what else is a gentleman to do?
You women will never understand how difficult it is to be a gentleman.

Oh so now you and Nonie are leaving and I'm going to be the only one stuck in New York??? Gee, that doesn't seem fair. It's already getting cold here.
Two more months and I can retire.... YIPPEE! :2excited: :pepper2: But then I still have to dispose of 26 years worth of stuff AND sell my house.
