Based on the Mark Morse article in the Daily Sun, is the new The Villages Health Specialty Clinic at Brownwood going to be contract managed by Anchor Health? No. The Villages has partnered with Anchor Health to manage the Brownwood Center for Advanced Medicine. This a separate location and business from The Villages Health Specialty Clinic which is currently being constructed. Take another look at the picture in the Sun.

The article seems to suggest that The Villages Specialty Clinic which is currently under construction in Brownwood (not to be confused with the new Brownwood Villages Care Center) is one in the same as the Brownwood Center for Advanced Medicine.

NO, completely different. Actually the Brownwood Specialty Care Center now being built, will become eventually another Villages health care center (Brownwood) and a Specialty center will be built at a later date in that area. That's according to my doctor at Colony.

If The Villages can't manage and run an ER at the Hospital what makes anyone think their venture into Medicine is any better than their today's health management. Continue to be at a loss to understand why anyone would trust themselves to local medicine as opposed to Shan's, Mayo, etc. When the car breaks down they get on TOTV's and want the best car repairs but when the body breaks down the family Dr. who may treat the problem once every 6 months is called on for their experience. Go Figure??:ho:

Except that "The Villages" doesn't run the hospital or ER, the same company that runs Leesburg Hospital runs it. And they won't be "running" the new specialty center, a national corp. will. Outside of THAT, you would have a valid point.

The Villages Health sent a memo to their employees. They have decided not to build a dedicated center for the Specialty care clinic. Instead, the Villages Specialty care center will be located in the new Brownwood Villages care center along with the primary care center. The Villages Health System is running negative cash after over four years of operation and losing about a million a month. Morris recently sold the bricks and mortar for a long term lease-back arrangement.
