"Throughout Donald Trump’s business career, some executives who came to work for him were taken aside by colleagues and warned to assume that their discussions with the boss were being recorded.
“There was never any sense with Donald of the phone being used for private conversation,” said John O’Donnell, who was president of the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in the 1980s.
For O’Donnell and others who have had regular dealings with Trump through the years, there was something viscerally real about the threat implied by the president’s tweet Friday morning warning that fired FBI director James B. Comey “better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”
“Talking on the phone with Donald was a public experience,” said O’Donnell, author of a book about his former boss, “Trumped: The Inside Story of the Real Donald Trump.” “You never knew who else was listening.”

I truly hope that Chump has recorded everything he's said in private since becoming POTUS.
I foresee him being too dumb, arrogant and narcissistic to understand that a subpoena to produce those tapes, as part of the ongoing investigation of the Russian intervention in the election...could be used to hang him.
Should be fun to watch.

This thread is another example of the insidious and insane plot by progressives suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome to manufacture fake news, fake accusations etc with the insane thought that if they keep it up Trump won't get to his agenda, he will fail and progressives will be back in the game in 2018.
Owing to their obsessions about Trump it is lost on them that the "people back home" (us) are struggling to pay our bills, meet our work, parental social obligations, paying our taxes, wondering how to pay the doctor, the butcher, the mechanic while these jerks play petty and childish political pranks on one another.
Whoever find a cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome deserves the Noble Peace Prize for what it is worth these days

He was right.....his phones were bugged
"A tweet from President Donald Trump on Friday suggesting that he might have taped phone conversations from the White House made waves in Washington, but some former employees and a former associate said it wasn’t a surprise to them that he would mention taped conversations.
As a businessman, Mr. Trump sometimes taped phone conversations with associates and others from his Trump Tower office in New York, according to three people who say they have direct knowledge of the recordings.

As usual, you have it exactly backward.
'Trump Derangement Syndrome' more accurately describes cultists like yourself, who try and make excuses for his constant blatant lies, unsubstantiated accusations, put blind partisan politics ahead of your country's pride & reputation...and lash out at any criticism of the most emotionally/personality fragile person to have ever held the position of POTUS.
The most pathetic part, is that you're actually proud of your unrelenting defense...of what is indefensible.
Your apparent ability to look at yourself in the mirror, improperly call yourself an American...can only occur with a total lack of intelligence or shame. :ohdear:
And you're actually proud of that?

It is more than incredible for any human being to make accusations when we now have a President who is ripping apart our country.
The last 3 days, we have been treated to our President and his surrogates tearing apart the FBI, over and over, none of it with any substance.
Every person who is in, or knows the FBI is sick about the President tearing them down.
He has gone after our judges....With no substance.
He has accused another president of wire tapping him.
ALL OF THESE AND NONE CAN BE TRACED TO ANY PROGRESSIVE OR DEMOCRATIC ACTION
NONE
And you blindly support and further denigrate more Americans.
You and your ilk are attempting to destroy our country.

Why do so many think it is not truthful unless it supports/favors their position/agenda/politics?
Why is it the same kinds of activities by past administrations they supported there was/is never similar demands.
Never mind. We already know.

"Here is how it works: Rather than defend President Trump’s specific actions, his conservative champions change the subject to (1) the biased “fake news” media, (2) over-the-top liberals, (3) hypocrites on the left, (4) anyone else victimizing Mr. Trump or his supporters and (5) whataboutism, as in “What about Obama?” “What about Clinton?”
For the anti-anti-Trump pundit, whatever the allegation against Mr. Trump, whatever his blunders or foibles, the other side is always worse."

Looks like Comey left a paper trail outlining Trump's attempts to influence the investigation on Flynn, and when Comey would not cooperate with Trump....he got fired.

Yes, he did....sad commentary AGAIN for this President....
"Fired FBI Director James Comey wrote an internal memo saying that President Donald Trump asked him to shut down an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, multiple sources with firsthand knowledge of the memo told NBC News on Tuesday.
The memo was part of a paper trail Comey built documenting what he believed to be Trump's campaign to derail the FBI's investigation of alleged Russian ties to his presidential campaign, according to a source close to Comey and a former federal law enforcement official.
The source close to Comey source said the memo included a line in which Comey quotes Trump as having said, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go."

Actually, this link is to a story that needs to be brought to a quick conclusion. This has to be addressed immediately...our entire government, at least the executive branch is now in serious danger.
This is the link...
President Trump should be very afraid of James Comey’s memos - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/05/16/president-trump-should-be-very-afraid-of-james-comeys-memos/?utm_term=.9d64f27a556d)
This from that link...in where a recap of Comeys notes...
"That last sentence should strike fear into the White House. This one story is significant enough and will lead to more allegations of Trump obstructing justice. Those allegations are already very much in the news thanks to Trump firing Comey -- the man leading an investigation into his campaign's alleged ties to Russia -- last week.
But the possible existence of a trove of Comey memos may be the real story here. Comey is known to be pretty meticulous keeper of notes, and CNN's Jake Tapper just reported that Comey kept extensive notes of his conversations with Trump for the precise reason that they made him uneasy -- presumably because of Trump making requests like the Flynn one that crossed a line for Comey.
And the reason Trump tweeted what he did about Comey four days ago is because the New York Times had just reported Trump sought a loyalty pledge from Comey at a dinner shortly after Trump's inauguration. It's difficult not to presume that Comey has notes about this meeting too.

"The reason we've learned about the Flynn memo appears to be because Comey shared it with others who are providing its details to the press now. Perhaps other memos weren't shared with others or not with people who would leak their details to the press. And if those other memos do come to light and show similar exchanges with Trump, that's going to be very difficult for the White House to combat in the court of public opinion.
That's because the notes will have been written before Trump fired Comey, and before Comey had an ax to grind. At that point, the White House would basically have to argue that Comey created a fictitious paper trail without a clear motivation."

No, in the last three days we have been treated to unsubstantiated allegations which certain members of the media are presenting as the absolute truth while ignoring the real story which is illegal leaks from within the administration and the publishing of classified information by a newspaper.

And your substance for your accusations is ?
Actually, I hope you are correct because if 50% of what has happened in the last days is true, this country is in deep deep trouble.
So, please supply your substance.
The Comey memos, at least one already produced..balance forthcoming.
We have Russian press to tell us about the meeting with Russian spy master.
We know Trump admitted on NBC that "one" of the reasons for firing was investigation of him.
We know Comey was the THIRD judicial party investigating Trump that he fired.
Trump admitted that he gave Russians secret info, legal because he can declassify but he gave Russia info, and the now know we got it from Israel.
Leaks are bad,..everyone agrees. Well over 50% of them came directly from the White House. I would guess that others from the intelligence community were a result of being belittled publicly world wide by Trump.
It will all come out.
