Hi, We are so excited to be closing on our new home in two weeks. Where are the best places to buy quality furniture? Can you save money by buying the furniture in North Carolina? Has anyone bought there stuff in Orlando or Ocala?

I like Blocker's in Ocala. Kane's is next door to them. Stay away from them. Read the reviews on them.

We just purchased a new home and after asking the same questions and visiting various stores we chose to use Babette's in Leesburg. They carry a lot of quality brands and most everything is custom made to order, mostly 6 to 8 weeks delivery time. They do have some floor models on sale, if you like Tommy Bahama, they have marked their displays down 50%. They have a large store with so much on display it's confusing. Our sales girl is Kimberly, she is very helpful, not pushy and did not rush us, and our in-home decorator there is Barb, she is coming to our home on Wed. to help put everything together for us. They also have another store next door that is a little lower priced but I believe custom colors, materials etc. are not available through that store. Good luck, Nick.

thank you, has anyone checked out the furniture in North Carolina? I've been told you can save a bundle

I know some folks who purchased in NC. One had the furniture shipped from there. The other rented a U-Haul and drove it down themselves. Both are very happy with their purchases and their savings.

I'm not sure you can save a bundle, but yes, you can save money. However, you will pay for shipping by a common carrier. It also may not be worth the trip because of the expenses of the few days trip if you are only buying a few pieces.

Baer's in Orlando (that's there closest store) is worth a visit. They carry quality furniture and accessories, as well as some high end manufacturers.

Baer's is a family run and owned business and has been in business for many years. They have an excellent reputation.

Good luck!
