CDD 6 supervisors vote to remove controversial speed bumps
The speed bumps to be removed are located near the entrance to the Village of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter and near a starter shack located near a tunnel at Mallory Hill Country Club

Now we just need to have them cover the drainage channels with metal plates

Removing the speed bumps at Bridgeport at Lake Sumter may not be good idea, as they provide a cautionary slowdown. The one at Mallory.... good riddance.

Those deep drainage ditches are more than enough to get you to slow down. They work at all the other gates.

Carts were not stopping when the speed bumps were there....................now they will ignore the stop and yield sign all together. Look for and accident or a fist fight to occur soon.

WHAT!!! i'd like to see you go over them at a fast speed....and why should that crossover be any different than the others... they are all somewhat dangerous both carts and cars should drive with caution

Different because of the gate placement.
Carts and cars should drive with caution......but they don't at this intersection.

actually I think that is the best gate placement in TV the gate stops the CARS before they can exit their village....in most of the others the cars just barrel thru the golf cart crossover and up to the gate

My bet's on the one leading into the tunnel by Mallory. There will be a cart slam into the tunnel wall or an out going cart in no time. I watched someone almost flip a cart on that speed bump leading into the tunnel.People just don't pay attention to what they are doing.:22yikes:

In which case they will just barrel through the cart crossing when ENTERING their village, often times off a higher speed road such as BV or Morse. Ideally, they could offset the gates so they are before the cart crossing both entering and exiting. For example, at Hillsborough and BV, all they would have to do is move the exit gate 30 feet further east, just don't extend the gate across the cart lane

The one in question is positioned before the cart crossing when entering and exiting.

Entrance to Bridgeport? Sorry, but both gates are beyond the cart crossing

Entrance to Bridgeport?

You do realize don't you, that there are a number of 'Bridgeport Villages' here?

Most of them actually have different configurations...for the gates/golf cart crossings.

The gates for the Bridgeport at Lake Sumter, were moved to where they now are between the golf cart crossing and Buena Vista Blvd....whereas they used to be between the cart path and the village.

"Beyond" meaning coming from the village...or going to it?

Picky, picky, picky:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

BV side of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter, where those annoying speed bumps are on the MMP. I guess my point is that unless the gates are offset, they will always be past the cart crossing, either entering or exiting

Actually, at that particular crossing the gates are offset. For cars coming into Bridgeport Lake Sumter the gate is before the the cart path. For cars or carts exiting Bridgeport at Lake Sumter the gate is also before the cart path. If the gate is down those on the MMP are free to go.

:ohdear: then you were not paying attention....the entrance gate was moved several months ago...again, I think it is 1 of the safest crossovers in TV
