Does anyone know how to kill
Bermuda grass that is growing on the Zoysia grass? I do not want to have to dig up the area affected as it is more than a 100 square feet. I would like to be able to spray something on the grass. Thank you in advance.

Since you have the Bermuda grass in such a large area, it would be impossible to pull by hand. Your only choice is to spray it with an herbicide like Round-up or the equivalent. Be aware than an herbicide will kill everything!
Only spray when the day is calm (early in the morning is best) so there is no drift created by any kind of breeze.
Follow the directions for dilution and spraying exactly.

Good Luck. Bermuda grass is on all the courses and its seed is in the air when they mow the courses. Also the seeds are carried on your mowing service mowers if they are not pressure washed between lawns. It will keep coming back. It is green and turns brown just like your zoysia. Just except it and keep it mowed.

It's nearly impossible to kill the bermuda without harming everything else, but.....There are two products that you can get from Amazon that seem to help a little: Ornamec, which is more potent, but won't harm your shrubs if you get it on them (but it may stunt your zoisia), and Turflon Ester, which doesn't seem quite as effective on bermuda, will kill your shrubs, but won't stunt your zoisia as much. Your best chance is to mix them. Both are pretty expensive. Good luck. I'm still fighting the bermuda.

This. Particularly true in Florida.

I live across from Southern Star #4; every house down thru here has Bermuda from seeds that blow over from across the street and germinate. Am I trying to kill it? Nope. It's green and I mow it; heck, I wish my whole yard was Bermuda - I know how to take care of it. If it creeps into my landscaping, a small squirt of Roundup takes care of it.

Bayer Acclaim works great. It's about $90 a pint but you only use a teaspoon per gallon of water. It puts Bermuda grass into dormancy so the Zoysia can choke it out.

The product label states it will "temporarilly suppress" Bermuda grass. It takes about a week before the Bermuda grass turns brown.

Are you sure it's Bermuda. There is a similar grass that is found in zoysia called torpedo grass. Looks like common bermuda but has thicker, wider blades, almost like crabgrass. I was informed it frequently is found hiding in zoysia sod from south Florida.
I thought most of the golf courses had hybrid bermuda which has sterile seed heads, so it has to be sprigged or sodded to install.
