4 Days in TV; 3 to go

Kathy and I have been at TV for 4 days now; 3 to go on this Lifestyle Preview trip.

We're having a wonderful time: Golf, pickleball, chocolate smoothies, investor's user group meeting at Miona Rec Center, looking at homes for sale, chocolate smoothies (did I already say that?), Savannah Center tonight for the Roots of Rock & Roll show, workout every morning at Laurel Rec Center, enjoying our Lantana home in Creekside Landing (where the buffalo used to roam), etc.

As a guest visitor, they provided us with a complimentary golf cart to use. It's slowed down a bit (not sure why). I call him "Pokey."

Hopefully, golf again on Thurs and pickleball either Fri. or Sat.

We have met so many nice people. That's the best part of TV: Kind, considerate retirees who really appreciate living here. We're so envious.

We plan on retiring here, but can't quite yet (still working and saving our $$).

For those already here, if you see a couple with a BIG smile on their face the next 3 days, that would be us. Give us a wave or hello, and we'll do likewise.

I'm glad you are having a great time. I have the same question as Ohiogirl, though - where did you get the chocolate smoothies? I haven't seen those, sound yummy.

Chocolate smoothies are made in a small gift shop (Ambrosia) on the west side of Sumter Square. They're yummie!

Gracie...you're giving away the "Sugar" secret. Let's just say when I sleep I have to be "on guard." <g>

Kathy & I had another great day today in TV.

Worked out at 7 am at Laurel Manor Reg. Rec Center, golfed at Bacall Exec. Course, then toured a few Open Houses, lunch at the Lighthouse, golf at Palmer course, chocolate smoothie (yep, another one!), walked around Sumter Square (Izod purchases), visited the golf cart store to check out gas-vs.-electric carts, bought a dozen "used" Titelist balls thru a vendor at Sumter Square vendor night ($1 a ball vs. the usual $2); only slightly water logged <g>, dinner at a sports bar in the Colony Shopping Center, then went to the Lake Miona Rec Center on the way home to see what was going on (as usual, met some very nice people). And it's only 9 pm!

Ahhh-life in TV. All you folks are so fortunate to already be living here. We, too, will...but not immediately.

We plan to be at the Havana Country Club Friday night where we can meet Kathie and her gang. What would be a good time for that? We're going to a Euchre club earlier at 6:30 pm at Miona Rec. Center (for a brief while).

Only 2 more days here. Drat!

ps: Tell Henry I shot the best 9 holes of my life today at Palmer, a 38. But it was kind of a "fudged" number, since I played most of the front tees with Kathy. But I did chip one in, and 1-putted a beautiful 9th hole.

I'm very appreciative that our Lifestyle Preview package entitles us to use the major Rec. Center equipment workout rooms. Use the Laurel site every morning at 7:00 a.m. Ahhh-TV!

Thank you ALL for your kindness. It's so nice to have finally met some of you. Is anybody here NOT nice <g>? A call from Gracie (from up north) while we were at Havana was another welcomed happening.

Up early this morning (5:20 am). Why? Every night here I've had a stranger-than-ever dream. The first night, it included a friend of mine being elected (?) King of Spain. Last night, it was I was a major league baseball player, and for my first game, they put me in at shortstop. I have never played shortstop in my life! And it showed last night (actually, early this morning). First hitter's ball came to me (naturally). To my left. Routine hit. Of course, I muffed it. Then I woke up (really) and couldn't go back to sleep.

Sadly, we're finishing our TV Lifestyle Preview trip this morning. Kathy is beginning to pack, while I write this TOTV msg.

This has been our best-ever trip to The Villages, and we know it will get superbly better when we retire here (not in the immediate future, as we both still work).

To those who live here know, you are so fortunate. This is a retiree's Paradise. Almost too good to be real, but it IS real!

Glad we were able to meet Kathie's group the other night at Havana Country Club. They're fun, genuine people. Kathie is quite a 'group' leader. Sorry that our friends, Gracie & Henry, weren't here during our stay. We have become very fond of them.

Guess I had better sign off now and start packing my own bags.

AWWW. One of these days we are all gonna be together at the same time and for a long time. I just love The Villages, but mostly the people. The wonderful people.
