I'm going to buy an IPad:

Apple iPad Air 2 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular

Any suggestions on where I can get the best price and service? Don't really want to drive to Orlando hoping to buy it locally or on line.

I want the cellular where I can use it in the car. My current older Ipad is not cellular and I use my phone as my hot spot but the connection is not always good so I definitely want this one to be cellular. Are there different types? The only differences I saw were cellular or not and memory differences.

Do you travel out of the country? When I bought my cellular iPad several years ago, there were available both an AT&T version and a Verizon version. Luckily I found out that the AT&T version is unlocked, whereas the Verizon version wasn't. I am able to take it overseas and switch the card in it out with a card good for whatever country I'm in at a cellular store in that country.

I don't know if Verizon ever unlocked their iPads, but you might want to ask if you plan on traveling out of the country with it. By the way, the salesman in the Apple store in Grand Rapids, Michigan, didn't know what I was talking about. I found my answer online.

Thanks for the tips. We don't travel out of the country other than on very few cruises. Mostly want the cellular to use in the car while traveling.

There is an iPad Users group at Colony Rec Center. Pretty sure it's the first Tuesday of the month (check Rec guide). Some real experts run this club and I'm sure they could answer all your questions. They are extremely helpful. Good luck.

I hope you realize that you need to pay a monthly service charge for a cellular tablet.

Yes I thought about that I will have to check to see how much it is.

I don't think sprint is very good. Verizon and Att are better...

Thank you for this information. I'm also in the market for an Ipad and have some questions. Before the Adult Education school was closed, they ran a great class.

What store is this offered? I am looking for the Ipad Pro cellular but maybe they have a deal on that also.

Thanks. I did see Walmart has $40 off but they didn't have what I wanted in stock to ship to me.

On Monday June 5th Apple have their Developers conference (WWDC 2017).

They announce updates to software and some new products.

If they announce new iPads then the present models may get discontinued and prices may drop a little.

Also you may want to see if a new model is worth waiting for.

So perhaps it is best to hold off until next week.

I have an iPad Air 2 that I use as my clock now. 'Hey Siri, what time is it'. The time is 8:13am, Good morning'.

Don't stress about iPads, unless you travel a lot, an iPhone will be better.

My friend uses an iPad for everything, and its his thing, he sits on couch around family and can email and use the internet.

Personally, if you BUY one now, just get the regular iPad, you can order one online at apple. I believe buying from the source.

Thanks Dude. I am a techie sort of person and like having technology at my fingertips. I have an Iphone 6 plus and love it but it cannot do everything I want. It is too small these days for my eyes even though it is the largest phone they make. It is fine as a phone. I also have a first generation IPad that is not cellular. I do quite a bit of travel and want the newest IPad Pro cellular version with 128G because as it is now I travel down the road in the passenger seat of our car with my small laptop attached to my hot spot on my lap surfing the net. Having the larger Ipad would be ideal for me. I'm just looking to get the best price.

IPads overcharge, and Samsung does just as good a job for almost half the cost of an iPad.

I have saved a lot on buying Apple factory refurb., they have the same 1 year warranty:
Refurbished Mac - Apple (https://www.apple.com/shop/browse/home/specialdeals/mac)

Also, ebay, from a highly rated seller can be good for used: tech Deals on eBay | Best deals and Free shipping (http://www.ebay.com/deals/tech)

Very much a matter of opinion.

I don't know how often you travel but I use my iPad Pro on wireless and then buy an AT&T plan for when we travel. It saves money and works well for us.
