be poltical....it is the administration of change !!! Remember those WORDS ?

The important thing to me about the story below is the LESSON PLAN that was originally created by this administration to accompany the Presidents speech to children...

"President Barack Obama's back-to-school address next week was supposed to be a feel-good story for an administration battered over its health care agenda. Now Republican critics are calling it an effort to foist a political agenda on children, creating yet another confrontation with the White House.

Obama plans to speak directly to students Tuesday about the need to work hard and stay in school. His address will be shown live on the White House Web site and on C-SPAN at noon EDT, a time when classrooms across the country will be able to tune in."

This is what is simply amazing.....

"Critics are particularly upset about lesson plans the administration created to accompany the speech. The lesson plans, available online, originally recommended having students "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president."

The White House revised the plans Wednesday to say students could "write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals."

I found it interesting in the lesson plans that there is no place for students to discuss where they might not agree with all the things the Pres has to say. The plans are geared to patently accept that the Pres is right and children should do as he says. Wonder what a teacher will do if a student challenges something that is said!

Glad that I was raised to look for the other side of the coin and to question authority. I can't help but be reminded of another world leader's youth group - and that is not at all what I want to think. I keep telling myself that other leaders have addressed our school children and good things have spawned from their words. Let's hope OB is inspiring.

I think the administration is showing its true colors...these are NOT mistakes but represents what the make up is of this WH !!

Absolutely other leaders have addressed our children and SHOULD, but notice that EVERYTHING that is done by this WH has to do with adoration of the man and pure politics !

Exactly! And that is what scares me! There are no mistakes as you say - as Karl Rove had so much to do with shaping the Bush WH, so too, does David Axelrod have as much to do with this WH.

I have used the psychological ploy of when you want to reach the parents you use the kids as a back door - involve the kids/involve the parents!

I so feel like we are being played for a bunch of dummies. Hmm, wonder if there is a White House for Dummies book out there somewhere!

You are so right and here is what is scary to me (among a few other things)....

Folks recognized Rove and what he did....always did...even Bush acknowledged it....

This administration will just plain lie to you about political involvement in EVERYTHING...they will not even discuss the Axlerod, Emanual connection....they just stay on the same message as during the campaign and it is just as much hooey now as it was then.

This President will make an outstanding speech next week...he always does, but if this country has not learned about his words versus action then I suppose they deserve what happens !
