Wonder Woman made over a $100,000,000 in US Box Office over the weekend. Best record for a US movie directed by a woman. Still an estimate though. :bigbow:

Granddaughter (18) saw it this past weekend. She says "Wonder Woman is easily my new favorite movie."

Nice to hear that girls have someone that makes them feel confident about themselves even if it is because of a movie like Wonder Women.

The wife and I saw it yesterday and enjoyed it. It's certainly more enjoyable than the Batman vs. Superman film that first introduced the character and bodes well for the Justice League film coming in the fall. I understand that Lebanon banned the film because the lead actor (Gal Gadot) is Israeli. I don't know much about her myself, but she is gorgeous, strong, confident, funny and very good in the part.

Saw it today at the Old Mill Playhouse at 1:15 PM 6/07/2017 and liked the details especially the dresses and the hours left. Missed a little because I had to move because of a very low voiced man behind me who was talking incessantly to someone next to him. And the man kind of scowled at me when I gave them a dirty look. This was to the man accompanying the two. So, I went all the way to the other side of the theater at back to the other side of the top row. I was on the second to the highest row when I got there 20 minutes or so early. These three came in well after the movie started.

Did note who they were when I was waiting to see if there were any extra scenes in this movie after the credits or during them. This was DC and not Marvel so often there are not. Two middle aged guys and a very attractive blonde woman were the movie late comers. The theater was crowded but only about 1/3 full. Maybe 100 people there. Some kids and their grand kids.

I may go see it again in 3-D to see what I missed when I was going to the other side of the movie theater.

Note that this is a 3D conversion, not a native 3D film, That is, it was not shot in 3D but converted to 3D after the fact. For some of us (me included), converted 3D films just plain look strange. The 3D effect is there in that some objects seem closer to you and some seem further away, but the objects themselves seem flat rather than naturally 3D.

I also note that in the 2D screen in Sumter where I saw this, the rear channel speakers don't seem to be actually turned on. This is especially noticeable during the short video they show before the film that talks about the sound being "All around you". It ends up coming out like "All you" as the "around" part that's supposed to come out the back speakers isn't doing so. I heard this (or didn't hear it) in that same theatre for both Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Maybe there's just an issue with the sound system in that one theatre.

Hey, I'm an admitted video and audio snob. If this kind of stuff doesn't bother you, feel totally free to ignore me.

I have noted that some movies do not seem to show much difference when you see them in 3D and then 2D.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT MOVIE and not at all what I expected. I wiped a tear away at one point. No wonder it is so successful...definitely not just for girls.

???

Girls and boys in our family feel confident. They are loved and appropriate behavior is expected of them. They are told the same stuff over and over and over again. So far that is working. They have turned out to be Wonder Women and Supermen.

I may be a tad bit prejudiced. ;)

Check some of the reviews of this movie and you should see why girls will really love this. Wonder Woman (2017) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/wonder_woman_2017/)

I haven't seen a superhero movie in quite a few years, but I did see Wonder Woman over the past weekend. I thought Gal Gadot did a very good job as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Special effects were very good. I'm pretty sure there will be a Wonder Woman 2, since the movie has already made $205 million in the U.S. alone since opening. Too bad Lynda Carter couldn't have been given a few minutes of on screen time in a cameo appearance in this version of Wonder Woman.

This movie has lines that will be quoted again and again in years to come. They avoided being smarmy and it was just TERRIFIC. Can be seen by children but it is very long...over two hours but the joy will be for grown ups.

I just loved the 226 dresses. And the 24 hours to get into action said shortly after that. I may go see this movie a few more times in theaters.

Gal Gadot. She is very charming in that role of Wonder Woman. She looked great in the Fast and the Furious movies until they killed off her character. :(

I just have loved the details in movies since walking my dog around those movie production trailers at the Red Lion Inn http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/hotels/california/doubletree-by-hilton-hotel-sonoma-wine-country-RLSC-DT/index.html in Rohnert Park, CA from 1989 through 1996. Jennifer V., dropped the dog --Amber-- then a puppy on my head when we were visiting from Minnesota in 1989. She is the daughter of a theater actress and her Dad a missile guidance system developer. Jenny now helps people get access to Nebraska courts by hiring and managing interpreters for the courts of Nebraska.

I had some interesting talks while avoiding duck poop around these movie trailers on Mountain Shadows Golf Course. Foxtail Golf Club - Rohnert Park, CA (https://www.playfoxtail.com/)

Now called Foxtail. Our home was 300 feet if that from the movie production trailers. I seem to remember they were there for much of the time 1986-1996 that my parents lived in Rohnert Park, CA.

watched this with my wife a few weeks ago. Possibly the biggest build up for a REALLY stupid movie that I can recall. My wife agreed. We wanted to like it but after the initial scenes with the amazons ....it was a politically correct stupid movie. An American indian in London during WW1. Really? Clearly my opinion is only that -
and in the minority here.
