Tile steaming and cleaning advice. About four years ago we got a few estimates on steam cleaning our tile. I don't remember exactly what they were but they seemed out rages and we went against it at the time. Does anybody know the cost approximately for a small ranch home probably about 900 ft.² of tile . Also could anyone tell me if it was worth it and who they may have used. Please any help would be welcome

For 18" tile we paid about $.42 per sq. ft. to clean + $.24 per sq ft. to seal the grout. They moved the fridge and taped film over the rest of the appliances to prevent splatter, and moved the furniture and area rug, except for two large pieces, and cleaned the dryer vent, no extra charge. We had a little over a thousand feet. It took two hard workers about five hours.

It's hard to write that check but when you see all the dirt come off the tile, it's gratifying.

Can you rent a steamer and do it yourself?

After about 15 minutes on hands and knees with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, we made the call.

Care of the tile has been so easy since. It is a time consuming process. As I recall, it took almost an entire day -- kitchen, hallways, bathrooms, and Roman shower. It has been a few years and I can't remember who we used. I do remember it was not inexpensive.

Having entire house tile cleaned as well as shower by All Surface Rejuvinations next week. Also repairing shower grout as well as tile grout and resealing all. They move all furniture- ask that you remove breakable son top of furniture. Friends had tile done by them and it looked fantastic. Not cheap but will let you know how it turns out next week. Sealing guaranteed for 20 years. Very knowledgeable owner.

It is much, much more expensive for this service than south of Tampa. We paid $100 for a 2400 sf house....but then, this is The Villages. BTW a paste of vinegar and baking soda left on cracks for a bit then rinsed off works extremely well and not a lot of work and a small amount of Baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar to 2 gallons of water every week and they stay clean.
