The other news source has an article that states Culvers may be coming to Trailwinds. The statement was made by the Wildwood Development Services Director Melanie Peavy. She also stated that Lowe’s, ABC Liquor and Circle K gas station have all committed to the site. Obvious by it's absence is Aldi's. Oversight or did they back out?

Aldi's is in Tailwinds, honestly enough of these cookie cutter corp franchises-After a week in Highlands, NC--I have come to the realization what I'm missing restaurant wise--crisp salads, presentation, and VARIETY

You obviously haven't been to Culver's NO comparsion to Johnny rackets. So you think the expensive chef prepared food more healthier? ( I bad news for ya, rich die along with the common folks, especially the ones that can't cook). What do you think they season it with to make it taste good? Rice cakes! Being healthy more about excerise and diet. You have to control them both. Basically any prepared food at home is more healthier that any fine restaurants, cause YOU control how it's prepared.

The shakes at Johnny Rockets are $5, granted they give you the overflow, but I like Steak and Shake better and if you go from 2pm to 4pm they're half price.

We are great cooks--we do not spend $$ on restaurants that we can cook better @ home--we only go out for unique food or for the meals we don't have the experience to try @ home-

I am a decent cook.

We don't go out often.

Sometimes I don't thaw, am tired, distracted, and want someone to sit something comforting in front of me.

Chain restaurants are sometimes VERY good. Try the Butter Burger and the curds at Culvers.

Many people MISS delicious meals because they just have to have an alcoholic drink served with their meal. I am the daughter and granddaughter of German Brewmasters, I have had a few drinks in my life, believe me... I just don't drink anymore and still enjoy food. Don't be a food snob, Chatbrat. If Culver's opens, pick up their fish sandwich and take it home and have a nice glass of white wine with it.

I'll give you that they do look interesting. I have nothing against fast food but enough is enough with these type of restaurants. Its like arguing if McD's burgers are better than Burger King's.

TV needs better ethnic foods...greek, real Chinese, real EYEtalian, Middle eastern, halal...etc. But alas, I doubt many ever really experienced any of those cuisines and are happy with the bland roadside fare they were use to.

The burgers are never frozen and Culver's also offers "gluten free". They're a really great restaurant with great service. You order at the counter, take a number and your food is brought to your table. The place is clean and friendly. If you're looking to eat healthy....you can have a salad but this might not be your place. Orginally the restaurant was a family one in Sauk City, Wisconsin which after several years began to franchize it, mainly in the midwest. It began to spread wider after time and finally made it's way south into Florida.

Maybe we haven't had a lot of food you have eaten but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy food perhaps you haven't eaten. If you have had cornbread and beans cooked by a person born in Kentucky then I am wrong. Or liver and onions. Or Beef heart. Souse. Thuringer. What is strange and exotic and yummy to some, others may not have tasted. We come from different backgrounds. Many of us are exposed to different cuisines here for the first time. A neighbor was reluctant to do potluck dinners. Worried about the kitchens and hygiene of people she didn't know. I was so surprised.

We can learn from each other. BUT...I don't like anyone elses potato salad as well as my own.

What is the percentage of people who die from stressing out about their friends consumption of fat grams versus those that eat fat grams? I have noticed Culver's on 27 in clermont (I think) coming and going from Disney, but never stopped. Anxious to try it.

Have only been to Culver's one time and really enjoyed my meal. Will be nice to have a place to stop for a quick bite on a busy day.
Haven't even looked at the other items available, but now that they'll be closer than Orlando area, I'll take a good look....🍦🍔😁

Starting and keeping any restaurant running and allowing the owner to make enough to live on can be a very difficult career choice. Easy to say there should be more ethnic foods venues available, but getting a company or even Mom and Pop restaurant to the surrounding area might be easier to say than to do. There's always the possibility of locals starting up or financing such a venue, but the possibility of 80 plus hour work weeks, staffing expenses, costs for a good chef and sous chef, start-up expenses, etc might not be appealing to many backers.

No, Culver's is better than any McDonald and Burger King, not even close. They don't let their food set on shelf, served with week old buns, or microwave the cool food. Matter fact you can add Wendy's, toco bell, Johnny rackets, and 5 guys disaster.

I think we need more European style restaurants, pay more and get less. Ethnic foods has to have big population of people that like it to even come close to surviving. Plenty in Orlando and even Ocala. Narrow window of profits around here. Culver's really higher quality than your normal fast food mismanaged restaurant. never been to one that wasn't squeaky clean, efficient, fresh, and full of customers. No eatery is for everybody, imo Culver's will just fine around here.

So, what are your friends saying. It they were honest and really concerned about their customers and feel that strongly they should put up disclaimer saying don't eat too often our food will kill you.

you can do better, but you are not the populist of the villages, I always suspect the well to investors/owners don't give $$$$ about average joes just want they're money.

Who eats at any restaurant all the time, O, I sorry I forgot the ones can't cook or too lazy to cook.

And I'll add the ancient but still true statement, "Everything in moderation". Culver's, or any burger joint for that matter, should not be a 7 days a week lunch spot. However, life is to be savored and enjoyed and sometimes I savor a really good burger or whitefish sandwich!:coolsmiley:

try not to add to post, did not say it would kill you, owners are young have three very young children. All
three of their places do VERY well, but everything in moderation, they only eat there once in a while since spending quality time with family is important. Have you ever owned or worked in a restaurant, you are there for 18 hour days, that's not the food you want to eat every day, you get tired of smelling and seeing it. They do have non fried food, and salads, but that's not what keeps them busy. Its a business, one wants to make money, or other wise whats the point. I am not calling anyone too lazy to cook, or too stupid to know how to cook, must be the summer heat

The fish sandwiches at Culvers are good! But I am not a picky eater...I survived 3 years of dormitory food at Loyola University many years ago, so just about anything compared to that is good.
