This country needs somebody who will be totally honest with the American public. Sure, the Republicans won't like this idea. Why? Because if he ran against Trump it would be a landslide in Comey's favor.
Comey has always taken the moral high ground. He has ****ed off the Democrats and the Republicans. The perfect candidate this country could use right now.

Will Comey run as a Democrat?

Comey is "WEAK." He said so himself. Why would you vote for a corrupt guy like that? Not that he has any chance of running for office. He will be lucky to get a job, thanks to his lack of loyalty and his back stabbing. He burned his bridges when he attempted to fight with Trump. Obama should have fired him for his inept handling of Hillary's felony investigation, but that would have ended up with Obama being found culpable in those multiple felonies. Remember, Comey was too weak to tell Lynch no. He has to be told what to do and how to do it. He is no leader. Besides, the democrat party elite would shun him in a heartbeat.

President of his cell block association?
I am shocked and embarassed at what is happening to our country.
You profess to want to discuss political and issues confronting our country yet you spend time rehashing the last 8 years and the last election......both over for months.
We have problems in the arab world right now, in case you had not notice.
We have terrorist problems in Europe.
We are fast approaching a terrible budget crisis.
Obama care is about to collapse and NO replacement for it looms.
Our reputation in the world is simply ludicrous and we have lost any leadership in the world.
Our entire democracy is under attack starting with the presidency but not excluding our justice system (see Jeff Sessions and firings galore of invetigators)
We have no idea when to believe our sitting President.
We now have, esp after the most recent shutting down any oversight requests from the Democrats (NEVER happened in history)
I am trying to stay middle of the road and not veer too far left or right but it is a bit skewed....
Point is.....all of this and this forum is all about little jokes, instead of serious discussion on serious issues. We are always, well some are, professing on here how serious the terrorist issue is yet we ignore what is or might be happening to defeat that terrorism in the world.
We make jokes......we choose either Comey or Trump and compare a career proven liar to a patriot who served this country with honor.
Sandtrap started a thread about how this forum has deteriorated and the last few days have simply underlined what he said.
The lack of thinking and even caring on this forum is simply amazing. I am not suggesting my side or yours is right or wrong, but we do not even try to discuss it on here. This is like a bunch of 7th graders simply playing.
If there are any responses, they will prove my point

Gotta love it when someone that does not contribute to the forum, by starting legitimate discussions with news links, judges others on here that show their opinions. He sounds more like CNM every day, but I won't respond to him because then he will say, "see, you proved my point" (just like CNM) which in reality is NO POINT. Liberal trolls come on here disparaging the president and then suggest that we are not patriotic when we support him because he is not their ideal of what a good socialist president should be. My advice to them, is for their own sanity go away. Perhaps join a quilting club or play shuffle board for a real challenge, but just go away. If those type of persons wish to have a civil conversation, then I suggest they don't act like their opinion is fact. And if they wish to discuss the Middle East or Health Care, then start a thread with that subject. Otherwise, quit yer bit*hin' and log out. And if you emotional lefties are so sensitive about referencing the last 8 years, why do you reference Bush's admin. which is prior to the last 8 years? In short, if you don't like being reminded that you lost the election and have to ride the next four years out, regardless of how hard you work to impeach the president, remember.........it ain't gonna happen with a Republican majority. SO either cinch up your knickers and wipe your tears or take my advice and find another hobby. Because no matter how much you stomp your feet, TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT and you have to accept that. Either way, I don't care.

We had to accept that thing that liberals elected last time. Who could have ever thought a black running things would improve things. Never does...NEVER has. We just dropped farther and farther behind. We're NOW down to 50% white and #25 in the world...how far do we LET it drop before we stop the foolishness? There is NO equality. They are NOT us. They will NEVER compete on an even playing field outside sports. Animals ARE better than "humans" in sports. Can ANY human beat a horse? A cheetah? Are ANY humans stronger than a gorilla? Perform acrobatics better than a monkey? No. Where DO "humans" thrive? Intellect...where blacks pale compared to whites/asians.

The joke that started this was the Comey for President title. He basically admitted under oath that he gave his notes, which are most likely government property, to a friend in the hopes that he would leak them.
This may very well be a federal crime and there may have been two federal crimes committed.
So yes, the prison statement was said tongue in cheek, but Comey for president is the real joke.

Why would his private notes be government property? A diary is the property of the person who keeps it. Not the government. These were his notes about a man Donald John Trump with a very long history of lying and conning people. Context is very important.
He did make them official records though when he talked about them while testifying.

I have read and re-read your post a number of times with one purpose in mind and that was to try and understand why any ethical and patriotic American would make a case for Comey when by his own admission the political pressures of his leadership position caused him such cognitive dissonance that he acted irrationally and thus failed in the face of discharging his duties and responsibilities.
If you do decide to respond to my post and explain your thinking please do not reference Trump. If you want to discuss Trump then let's begin a new thread.

He would have to deal with all the less the honorable men and women who abound in the Beltway. There are some good men and women in political office but these are probably few and far between because of how things are run in Washington where the party seems to be everything and not the constituents back home. Donald John Trump had initially stood for the constituents at home but quickly became just another Republican player for the most part. Comey is not that. He stands up for the US Constitution as well as the FBI members. Obama got swallowed by the same whale of politics as usual especially when he joined forces with the long time political manipulator Joe Biden. Hillary Clinton kind of the same old Beltway politics. First of all, the Director of the FBI is a bit higher than a private in the army.
Secondly, a private, writing letters on his own time to a girlfriend is just slightly different than a high-level government appointee taking notes at a meeting to which he was summoned by his boss.
And if you recall, letters home were often edited by the US Military during wars giving me the impression that those letters might be considered the property of the US government.

You have a meeting with one of this biggest liars on the planet and you do not document what this person asks as well as possible. Sounds like someone needs a brain.
We will see if Donald John Trump actually has any tape recordings of the Comey-Trump meetings. Probably just another lie. And Donald John Trump kind of is the Federal Government right now as of 6-12-2017. Why hand anything over to that con man?

No...sadly there are just a few that APPEAR to be honest.
The party IS everything. It's what got them elected. It's where the orders come from. If you don't play ball...you're out...you won't get elected without your party support.
Because the president is just a talking head. The real decisions are made by the "board", those who really call the shots...those who "own" both sides...Ds and Rs.
Those "whales" put Obama there. Hillary was passed over to get Obama into the slot. She was passed over again for Trump. SOMEONE with clout doesn't want Hillary to be president...they probably don't trust her.

Not specifically in this case...but in other meetings where classified is discussed...isn't recording illegal? That leaves an unsecured, unlabeled, transcript containing classified material. As bad as Hillary and her server. They BOTH know it's unacceptable.

Lets be clear. YOU know and everybody knows that Comey broke NO laws, did not come close to breaking any laws, did not lie and did not come close to lying.
He is a public servant who frankly is above reproach.
The FAKE NEWS campaign...the effort to tear down a REAL AMERICAN PATRIOT by the lovers of Trump is disgusting, at best, but not surprising at all.
The link and story below is about how you people work. I earlier posted a story in todays NY Times showing how the pro Trumpers organize and get out their ANTI TRUTH campaigns.
They care not a whit who they hurt in the process. The USA if far down their list.
Of course I expect the usual trolls to continue with the phony, and frankly ignorant posts, ALL, AND ALWAYS unsubstantiated in any way. So Rubicon, etc., you can begin or better said continue your ANTI USA posts tearing down, again with no substantiation ever our the American media, the entire justice system, the lies about the FBI, the intelligence community, the refusal to accept the President has done more damage to our international reputation that can be imagined are all expected and actually are part of the daily fare on here where everything good about America is demeaned, and where lying is not only endorsed but embraced.
"Instead of seeing Trump for who he is, his supporters create an imaginary figure who does no wrong."
"This is the place where Trump's supporters exist: rather than seeing the president for who he clearly is, they construct an entirely different Trump in the negative space around him. If Comey accuses the president of obstructing an FBI investigation, they will say, "but look at all the laws Comey didn't charge Trump with breaking!" If Comey says Trump lied, they'll say "according to Comey's own admission, here's an instance where Trump told the truth!"
Given that the Trump we know often behaves indefensibly, his supporters simply build a more tolerable version of Trump, the one they see in the blank spaces around him. They view Trump as free-form jazz: his strength is in the things he doesn't say. Even if he actually says them.
Yet the first step in creating a new, more palatable Trump is never admitting he said things he actually said. Prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Trump expressed support for the operation; in presidential debate after presidential debate in 2016, he lied, claiming he never had supported the war. Trump knew that if he just kept saying it, his supporters would somehow wish it true. Score one for Imaginary Trump.
For #AlwaysTrumpers, it is also important to concoct fictions about Trump and never back down from them. Trump supporters are required to pretend, for instance, that the president is a tough-as-nails, no-nonsense negotiator who will only get us the best deals – yet the briefest of trips through his Twitter timeline reveals a thin-skinned moral adolescent obsessed with settling scores and being well-liked.
The most common trick in defending imaginary Trump, however, is the practice of "whataboutism" — or complaining about the outrage over Trump's actions when there was a lack of concern over a previous president's similar actions.
Trump shared classified information with Russia during an impromptu conversation? What about the time Barack Obama shared information with Cuba?
Trump doesn't know why the Civil War was fought? What about the time when President Obama said there were 57 states?
On and on it goes, poisoning the reputation of Republicans that would normally recognize that pointing to a past event doesn't excuse a current one. But for those unwilling to defend the indefensible, they cling to such misdirection even if the comparison between the two events is specious.
Trump is, as our parents all once warned us, the "eat your meatloaf because there are starving kids in China" president – he may be awful, but we should accept our fate because the alternative would leave us starving in the streets. (Like the Chinese kids who probably all have jobs making Trump's ties.)
Focusing only on select parts of Comey's testimony allows Trump's backers to fill in the empty space with a fiction more favorable to the president. However, they would be better off focusing on the president that actually stands before them rather than the one they wish they had."
Trump supporters create an imaginary Trump who does no wrong. (https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2017/06/09/trump-supporters-concoct-their-own-comey-story-column/102635810/)

"A Republican mega-donor is the man allegedly responsible for the millions of Twitter bots President Donald Trump counts as followers.
Robert Mercer, a reclusive billionaire, is a former computer scientist who helped build the technology at IBM decades ago that would later be used to create its Watson supercomputer.
And the technology he's reportedly supplying to the commander-in-chief be 'weaponized' to help portray the White House in a more favorable light.
Trump, meanwhile, currently boasts 32 million Twitter followers. However, his account added more than two million followers in May, according to Mashable.
It has grown by about seven million since February and more than half of those accounts appear to be fake, the new site said.
In total, about 15 million of the total followers are bots or automated accounts, which allegedly could be 'weaponized' to spread fake and misleading news stories that favor the White House or distract from the scandals it now faces, reported the Daily News."

"There is plenty of intelligence to suggest the bots are part of coordinated attacks on international elections and against pro-Democratic leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, performed by hostile foreign networks and even spy groups. And yet, at the same time, it isn't immediately clear where a specific bot comes from or what its creator’s true intent was when building the computer software. That's a debate that could wage on for years on end."
"But many of those bots appear to have one common and undeniable goal: to protect and defend the 45th president of the United States."
This is and was a Russian tool.......
"A steady stream of Russian propaganda and fake profiles infiltrated social media and the web well before the 2016 presidential election, with many experts saying propaganda bots first took aim at the U.S. in 2014 or earlier. "The Russians have used social media-driven information campaigns to discredit the U.S. for years," Clint Watts, a senior fellow at the Center For Cyber and Homeland Security at George Washington University, said during a testimony provided to the Senate Intelligence Committee in May. "Facebook and Twitter remain littered with pro-Russian, Western-looking accounts and supporting automated bots designed to undermine the credibility of the U.S. government."

"Twitter has been one of Donald Trump's favorite tools ever since he first started running for president, so it's no surprise that his account is closely followed by millions of users, and his every tweet is parsed for intelligence about his intentions.
More recently, however, attention has focused on the fact that Trump's already large Twitter following appears to have increased substantially, and that many of these new followers seem to be "bots" or automated accounts."
In testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this year, former FBI agent Clint Watts described how Russian agents used Twitter bot armies to spread fake news during the election, including using accounts that appeared to belong to Republican voters from the Midwest."

"But several researchers who study social media have also reached the conclusion that something fishy may be going on with Trump’s account.
That something fishy may involve the mass creation of “bots,” a catch-all term for accounts that are automated, meaning a single individual or a team can run hundreds or thousands at time. This is something Trump’s supporters have a history of doing well, far better than his political opponents, according to work by several researchers."

Wow, another long tangent by a credible no vote poster. That's real credible.

Coming from one of the biggest trolls here...that is hilarious! :D
Your obsessive and bile-induced spewings, constantly personally attacking posters who actually make cogent comments and provide links...clearly exhibits an insecure Trump Cultist.
So thanks for the chuckles. :ho:

Comey for president? What a joke. Maybe the left will run him in the next election. Hopefully. We need more limp wristed sissies on the left to prove how invalid they are in a REAL American system.

Speaking of rich guys. We now are hearing about all the fake followers of Trump. They are for the most part....BOTS and he knows that and uses them. More on that later but to rich guys...
