I read the VHA Voice for june and noted an meeting summary notice saying that "a chairlift" was to be added to their pool.
Strange.
I always assumed that all our pools were compliant with ADA standards till I checked. A lot are not.
The question then becomes why are they not.

You did not mention all Neighborhood Pools. Are they not required to be compliant? and the phone number you indicated is not for pool help!

Most are not.

The two pools nearest my residence in TV are not ADA compliant.

It was a real nuisance to track down one that was.

But, to answer your question: Community pools that are associated with a private residential community and are limited to the exclusive use of residents and their guests are not covered by the ADA accessibility requirements.

Further, The ADA requires businesses to make existing pools accessible only when it is "readily achievable" to do so. Readily achievable means that providing access is easily accomplishable without much difficulty or expense.

I would guess that each Community Development District can make it's own decision about whether or not to install pool lifts in it's district.

when we moved here in 2011, only 2 pools had lifts. Now almost all of them do. I think that's quite an improvement.
