Yes, I confess, I am a procrastinator. I have a hard time letting things go. Consequently, I brought a lot of “stuff” to The Villages that I will not use and will not need. It has served its purpose. (I have to keep repeating this mantra.)

So, I have begun. I’ve been cleaning out my closets. I have mostly clothing that I used to wear to work. Professional jackets, skirts, pants, dresses, and shoes. I would like to donate them to an organization that helps women with giving them wardrobe to dress well for interviews and new jobs. Does anyone know of a charitable organization in the area that may have this public service mission?

I also heard about a charity that accepts lightly worn bras, again to help women in need. (I was surprised by this too, but learned and have a better understanding of the needs.)

Please post if you know of any of these types of charitable organizations in our area.

Thank you.

The Haven might be a possibility. Their focus is helping those who've been in domestic violence/sexual abuse situations. One of their services is preparing an individual seeking employment.

There is a church in Wildwood real close to the Presbyterian Church that has a program that loans clothes for women going to interviews. I took clothes there a couple of years ago and they were thrilled to death. You may want to call the Presbyterian Church and ask them because it is a neighboring church close to the Presbyterian Church that has the program. All the churches seem to work together down there! There is another national organization called dress for success and there is a location in Orlando. So if nothing else you may want to contact them and they may be interested.
