I must be getting old. I think I just put a postcard into the mail and forgot to put on a stamp.

I will have to see what happens with it.

It is not going far though just to someone in a neighborhood close to the Villages. I could drive there in 10 minutes and walk in 20 if so inclined.

Maybe the postal workers here in my Village will recognize the mail going out and I sometimes also send letters to this person and her daughter.

It might actually get there. I'll have to buy another just in case with a stamp this time.

Kind of an experiment. I will keep a record of what happens.

Next time you leave the stamp off of it, just put where you want to send it...as the return address.

If you put your return address on it, they should return it to you.

If not it will go to dead letter.

They no longer deliver "postage due" letters that do not have a stamp.

Let us know.

It was a joke...of course. :D

Doing it, would be the same as theft...in my opinion.

There was a barcode where the stamp would go on the postcard so I just assumed that was a stamp of some kind.

Thinking about it after though I think that might have been the only bar code on the postcard. I will have to check the postcard wheel where I got this to see if I needed a stamp or not.

No Stamp, No Return Address - Mamapedia™ (https://www.mamapedia.com/article/no-stamp-no-return-address)

Did a little research. It may be on its way to Atlanta.

I will send another postcard after I look at the postcard wheel to see what the barcode or barcodes had on them.

We two play cell phone tag quite often so it is often easier to just send her a letter or postcard.

An answer to a person who also forgot to put on a stamp from Mamapedia--

Ok - I used to work at USPS, so I can tell you how things really work. (hate to say it - but there are a lot of guesses below that are incorrect). First of all, it's no use calling your local Post Office. They don't hold mail there, and they don't have the manpower to go searching through the thousands of letters mailed for one that's missing a stamp.
Either way, the lack of manpower might work in your favor. There isn't a person who checks every letter for a stamp. There are machines that do that, but they're not perfect, so it's possible that your letter will make it through your post office, to the sorting facility, and to the destination with no problems. That's the best case scenario.
The second best is that it will be sent to the recipient and marked as "postage due". The recipient will have to go pick the letter up at their Post Office and pay the cost of the stamp. This doesn't happen all that often, but it's possible.
The most likely scenario is that your letter will be sent to the mail recovery center in Atlanta. It will be scanned to see if it contains anything valuable - credit card, check, etc. If yes, they will probably send it on to the recipient with postage due. If it doesn't, it would be shredded.
If I were you - I'd resend the letter if possible (this time with a stamp). Good luck!

Let it go. We all have done this and it makes us all wonder and even worry a little.

The worst thing that can happen is that it will not get there. No one will be upset. Don't be upset, Tal.

I am not. Could have been a bill but I get OCD with those and check the stamp, closure and other stuff repeatedly.

I wanted to send out the postcard as quickly as possible because a mutual friend wanted some pit bull mixes to meet. They look a lot alike. I have actually come to like SOME pit bull mixes since meeting Jade, Harlow, Lucy and Ginger. They still look a little scary to me. Some with jaws that are bigger than my hand it seems like. Still get nervous around unfamiliar pit bull mixes. Harlow used to bark at me about three inches from my belt line back in April of 2016. Now that made me really edgy but Harlow the last I saw him would lick me face when I talked to his owner and Jade's owner.

They (Jade and Harlow) got kicked out of Doggie Doo Run Run around February of 2017 unfortunately for being a bit too aggressive with other dogs so I have to find other ways of meeting Jade and Harlow and their owners.

Pit bull mixes in the Villages I know can be a sensitive subject. I have met a few that are quite aggressive and just give these a lot of space.
