I was travelling north on Buena Vista and saw a crew jack hammering the curb where the cart path crosses the end of Talleyridge. Being a busy body I asked why. Golf carts crossing there will soon be rerouted inside the gate as is done in most instances.
Probably a good thing. I have seen a lot of near misses there where golf carts travelling south fail to stop and autos turning in had to stop suddenly leaving them exposed to south bound auto traffic.
On the flip side, those two cart paths at the gate were an after thought and are kinda' narrow and tricky for some people to maneuver. In view of the increased traffic, I hope part of the plan is to improve them.
BTW, keep in mind my informant didn't have a good handle on English but it would seem my interpretation is correct.

Wrong, I just drove by again and it looks like they actually smoothed out the bump. I guess I should bone up on my Spanish. Sorry for misleading you.

IF you drive that route a lot, you would know that they were repairing the deteriorated curbing on the cart path. It was falling apart on the south side of the Glenview exit gate.

Although rerouting the traffic behind the gate would not be a bad idea. It is a bad crossover.

Has the cart path along Buena Vista north of 466 been repaired or improved? There were some issues with that section of cart path and people were using Oak Forrest Dr. as a north-south alternate route. I'm interested because poor roads/cart paths would keep me from shopping for a home in that area.

It is all a myth!! There is nothing wrong with the cart paths north north of 466 except they are narrower than the ones south of 466. If you drive the speed limit (less than 20 mph) and stay on your side of the yellow line you should have no problem navigating them.

I live north of 466 and have never had a problem driving on the cart paths over here.

If so, would you please tell me how. We are new TVR's coming in December.

I assume you mean Lake Sumter Landing. If so, just take Morse Blvd. to east of County road 466 and right on Rio Grande then left on Delmar and it will take you to Spanish Springs.

A bit of unsolicited advice. As soon as you get here, or before if you can, contact the sales department and buy a map ($5.00?). Multi modal (golf cart etc.) trails are marked. Without a map it can be confusing. Newbies exiting a tunnel sometimes find themselves going the wrong way. If you get confused just pull over onto the grass and I'll bet the next cart that comes along will stop and ask if you need help. (It's what we do here).

If you are doing a Life Style Preview you will receive a one page map of TV with the golf cart trails marked in red. It also had all the tunnels marked. I found this map invaluable as I knew how to get somewhere by car but had no idea where some of the trails went or ended up. Getting lost was part of the fun of learning about TV.
