You are not certainly insinuating that the Trump family wants it kept in the family, are you.

Sure looks like a well thought out appointment..I am sure these American citizens are in good hands
By the way, this woman is under investigation with the Foundation for funneling money
"A longtime associate of President Trump’s family, who organized golf tournaments on the president’s courses and planned his son Eric’s wedding, will soon oversee billions of federal dollars as the head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s New York and New Jersey office.
Lynne Patton had been working as a senior adviser and director of public engagement at HUD for several months before Ben Carson, the department secretary, recommended her for the new role, a person close to Mr. Carson said. Before that, Ms. Patton had no experience in housing policy.
The appointment of a Trump family loyalist to a key government post fits a pattern. His daughter Ivanka and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, work in White House offices. Dan Scavino Jr., who was the president’s caddie, is the director of social media. His longtime bodyguard, Keith Schiller, has become such an important White House figure that he hand-delivered the dismissal papers to James Comey, the former F.B.I. director.
Nonetheless, the appointment of Ms. Patton elicited incredulous responses in New York.
“Like many things in the Trump universe, we’re dealing with things we’ve never seen before,” Mayor Bill de Blasio, who held the same post during the Clinton administration, said in a weekly radio interview on WNYC. “Folks in that role historically have had substantial background in government or in housing.”

Gotta admit that is funny.
Your are right. Organizing weddings and golf tournaments is much better than the last few who actually knew what HUD meant and did.
But we need all the cheerleaders possible. NY citizens are in good hands.

I did 2 jobs for HUD 2 years ago, a new 6 story and a remodel of 10 story building. Talk about wasted money!
The main entrances were $60K each and there were 2 on each building. The hardware specified was not chosen for value, if it was the most expensive that is what they spec'd. Even the industry standard 9" pull was not good enough for these people, they spec'd a 10" pull. The doors had $3700 closers (banks and schools use a $350 closer). The vinyl flooring was 3/8" thick (schools use 3/16" thick). They had outdoor patios on 2 of the upper floors (nice views!), all dolled up with gliders and conversation pits ...it was more like an expensive retirement condo building than a HUD building to house "residents" in free apartments.
The 6 story building has a 60' x 30' canopy that cost $300K over the main entrance, that way residents (and guests of residents) could be dropped off at the expensive entrance door when it is raining, and they would be more comfortable arriving to their free apartments. Only the person that parked their piece of $hit leaking oil car would have to get wet.
The whole time we worked on the buildings, no matter what time of day it was, there was a stream of "residents" in their pajamas heading to or from the "smoke shack". These are federal buildings, they are not supposed to smoke inside of them, so they build a shelter in the parking lot for the "residents" to smoke in. At 2pm, they are still in their pajamas (its not like they had to get up early and go to work)...but I am sure they are proud of the entrance doors that lead to their free apartment!
It took them over a year to get the contractors on the project paid. There was no outstanding items on the punchlist, the payouts were just dragged out and waiting for the funding.
This new person with business experience, sounds like a move in the right direction. The current management is extremely wasteful.

She is only going to be in charge of New Jersey, and New York. Look who she is reporting to, Ben Carson. Now, that is the dream team that HUD needs. In Trump's world, the less experience you have the better he likes you. As long as you worship him, he will find a job for you. "Ass kissers are us" will be on Trump's appointers hats. At least, they won't be lying, which is something new for Trump, and his lap dogs.

So who do you think would be better, the people Obamma appointed? Possibly you feel it was being run in a way that needed no change?? Or are you just being critical of Trumps every decision...

I would ask you to point out WHAT business experience she has, but seems they are backing of anyway...
"Federal housing officials appear to be backing away from the appointment of a Trump family wedding planner to run the office that oversees federal housing in New York.
On Thursday two federal officials had confirmed to the Daily News a start date of July 5 for Lynne Patton as the new administrator of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development’s Region II office.
Late Thursday Patton did not dispute the appointment when she tweeted out what appears to be a clarification of her resume.
But on Friday HUD spokesman Jereon Brown said "The position is vacant. There’s been no official announcement."

back to the thread.....she certainly sounds qualified.....this from a CT news source which is where she is from...
"A New Haven woman recently named by President Donald Trump to a top regional housing job references a Quinnipiac University law degree on her LinkedIn page that she doesn’t have.
More Information
Lynne Patton, who went from planning Eric Trump’s wedding to speaking in support of his father at the 2016 Republican convention and heading Eric’s foundation, parlayed the connection into an inner-circle advisory role in the Trump White House.
She might be treading a fine line on LinkedIn, putting “N/A” — which generally means “not applicable” — next to her reference to a Juris Doctor diploma from the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
The profile says she attended the law school from 1998 to 2000, but a university official said she was not there that long."
Trump housing appointee’s credentials fuzzy - Connecticut Post (http://www.ctpost.com/local/article/Trump-housing-appointee-s-credentials-fuzzy-11226441.php)
Then of course from Wiki....
"Education[edit]
Patton reportedly graduated from the University of Miami with a B.A. in English literature.[6] Patton's LinkedIn profile claims that she attended the Quinnipiac University School of Law, but school officials have stated that she did not graduate.[7][8] Patton also claims affiliation with Yale University on her LinkedIn page, which has not been explained.[9][10]"
Early career[edit]
Patton was involved in casting the 2012 and 2014 seasons of The Celebrity Apprentice.[6]
Eric Trump Foundation[edit]
Patton was one of 16 unpaid directors at the Eric Trump Foundation, though her position did not appear in the Foundation's 2014 tax filings.[11]
Beginning in January 2017, Patton served as a White House liaison and Director of Public Liaison for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.[12][13][8][14] Beginning in July 5, 2017, she is to head Region II.[1][15] She has no reported experience with housing policy.[3][8]"

I read AND posted about most of this on the political forum in 2008.
Your sources, I am sure are impeccable, but most importantly instead of demeaning the ex President maybe pay attention to the complete degredation of ouir Presidency.
Hey, since I investigated all of this myself, could you supply a link to support Obama running Acorn ? Sadly mistaken.
Also you will have to prove to me that Obama ran the US into the ground, and please dont try to divert the thread but that is a subjective argument, For example, I can give you countless, hundreds of opinion pieces on how our current President is ruining this country....hell I can give you quotes from his chief adviser saying he wanted to tear down the country.....
This stuff you are spewing is very very old commentary and sort of shows where your mind is....and it sure is not in the present.
Listen, back in 2008 on this very forum we were discussing all those issues back then.....get on board...it is 2017 and our President is simply tearing us apart and not very subtly.
IF you cannot defend the man you love, why go back almost 10 years to resurrect old hatred ?
But then again, was it not your purpose to compare an ex president with Lynne Patton ???

If something goes wrong, blame it on Obama.
Don't look at what the Republicans did for eight years under Obama. As soon as the Democrats do the same to them, call them obstructionists.
Concerning the original, this woman maybe the only one that would accept the job. Look at the number of unfilled positions now. Look at Trump's staff, they are running out there to get lawyers to protect themselves. Who wants to get involved in that nonsense? So, you are going to get a lot of unqualified people accepting jobs that they have no clue how to handle.

I am posting this as Bucco. I have never been thrown off any board. I changed my name.....ready for it....because I am a true conservative and was being hassled for being so anti Obama.
You see, a true conservative believes in moral character, and ethics. I was an active working Republican until the primary.
That my party could allow one if the most decrepit people in the face of this earth to be nominated just sickened me. To give up any moral ground just hurt, so I left the party and became an Independent. I still believe in conservative VALUES and those values do not allow me to "support" a morally bankrupt person, and to be unable to support him and instead muster up hate and sheer evil to be my motivation.
I am a patriot, served my coubtry, practiced politics, stated active and refuse to allow my country to be ripped apart and embarrassed ON A WORLD STAGE by a 3rd or 4th rate human being. I will oppose anyone who tears down my country for his own gain.
I referred to my posts of 10 years ago to make my point. I am sick and tired of defending myself to hypocrites like you and others. People who HATE OBama HATE Clinton so much they allow our country to be taken over by this person. I love my country first and found the nomination if Trump to be nauseating.
I read here...you people do not defend him...you attack those who are open enough to point out what he is doing to the country. You bring up OBama and Clinton as if that meant something.
You are all hypocrites if the first degree....you hate this country or you would not allow this to happen..,you would speak up instead of shouting out OBama or Clinton.
I took them to task many times is why I referred you to this screen name, but again...the country is first, not a morally corrupt person who is ripping this country to pieces and making money doing it. He changes our foreign policy for HIM, not the USA. He lies from OUR White House, and you endorse it making you just as bad..

I am now back as rockyrd.
As to my manner of speaking. This is not comfortable for me. I much prefer to talk the issues but you and the other Trump supporters can only attack and be sarcastic about those who read and are aware. Thus my attitude.
Your ilk is so sad..you have truely been conned...he has lied and will make millions off your support. NEVER call yourself a conservative....you are not. A true conservative has moral values, which our President has NONE.
I frankly find you people changing the subject all the time to OBama or Clinton, unable to defend Trump very sad and embarrassing.

You're mistaking me for someone else. You have no idea how conservative I am, what I stand for, or my background. Those make you completely unable to make a judgement about my morals or values.
So don't even attempt to lecture me, Bucco, Rockyrd, or whatever your name is.
And since you brought it up, read my posts on this thread. Not once did I mention Trump. Nor have I been conned. On the other hand, you are completely blinded by your hatred of Trump. That makes you unable to clearly and critically analyze.

I know you support Trump and what he stands for.
Maybe I am blind in regards to him, and maybe you do have the moral high ground. All I know changing US foreign policy (Qatar) for his business interests, firing and demeaning anyone who might want truth, demoralizing this country with accusations and lies.....I will always take the opposite side of that.
We will find out in time about right and wrong. If I am wrong and the lies turn to truth, and the accusations all prove to be true, and all his firings of good Americans are justified, I will easily apologize to you in this forum or anywhere.
And coming on a thread about a HUD appointee in 2017 and referring to "wivestales" or lies back 10 years does say quite a bit.
No, I have no idea how conservative you are, but I know you do not share what used to be conservative and Republican moral values. You have , what appears to be, a festering hate for OBama which is obviously stuck 10 years ago.

I certainly support some of the things Trump is doing, but that does not mean I support all he does, or wants to do. None of this means that I am not a conservative, however.

Well, your response about OBama on a thread on HUD offering some sort of comparison, and knowing what he is NOW..PRESENT TIME...doing in Qatar AND WHY, what he is proposing to help Russia with on sanctions, how he has fired good Americans for searching for truth and your silence and dupiverting such says quite a bit.
By the way, I support much if what he says, but not what he is doing...although I was happy with Cuba decision, but the damage being done to our democracy is going to last a long time, which is the publicly stated wish of his closest advisor (Bannon).
But my feeling in you is based only on what you post, and you sure seem to support what he says and does, and are still in election mode like him.

I've already posted a link to some material about their law licenses.
Here' a piece from the Jerusalem Post: http://m.jpost.com/app/article/392188
Look, we can counter-link each other forever, and I'm not interested in wasting my life. We have different opinions & differing sources - I can accept that.
The problem is, you simply posted a lying list of long-time right-wing talking points that have been proved demonstrably false...and expect others to just believe them as you do.
I get it, I really do, that you probably believe them because you haven't bothered looking deeper and that they fit your bias, narrative and agenda, but you have to understand...that there are many others that prefer facts and the truth.
Which also explains why Trump has a small hardcore of cultist supporters, that have no problem with his lies, sneakiness and outright bullying...toward those that dare to question him (and, quite frankly, his saneness).

A lot of the damage to our democracy was done in the last eight years, and not by Obama. The Republicans opposed everything he wanted done. Obamacare is modeled after Republican plans for healthcare. Not only did they oppose it, they want to go back to healthcare that wasn't working for everybody. The amount health insurance carriers charged went up every year prior to ACA. Why would anyone want to go back to that?
By opposing everything, the Republicans gained control of both houses, and now the presidency. Part of the problem is internal. The Freedom Caucus, Tea Party, is too far right, and is opposing members of their own party. Conservatives are called Rinos even though their beliefs haven't changed.
As a person that has never has had to listen to anyone, and always got his way, unless he was sued, is now our president. Since the Republicans control both houses, he thinks he can do whatever he pleases. When you listen to him talk, he believes that he can do anything that he wants. So, his big mouth and fingers are constantly getting him in trouble.
He is not going to change. He wants people in top positions to be his lap boys/girls. So, he puts people that are totally unqualified, or opposed to the government department they are in charge of. As long as they never question him, and always praise him, they can stay.
The democracy will not be hurt, if they can get him out of there in one big hurry. He is giving them the reason to do it. Bill Mahar said, that Nixon had deep throat causing all the problems he had. For Trump his deep throat is Donald Trump.
Concerning the unqualified woman put in charge of NY, and NJ HUD, it won't be a problem as long as she has qualified people working for her, and she follows their advice. All she has to be is a Yes Woman!
draining the swamp was suppose to include getting rid of patronage jobs. Like that is going to happen.

Talk about deranged...how did Obammacare pass if the Republicans opposed it? That's right the dems had a majority...that puts the blame squarely on Obamma and his party.
I can tell you my healthcare insurance went up very little in the years prior to Obammacare...
It went from $750 a month to $1350 a month in the last 3 years. Never, ever, had it gone up like that prior. I am 53, healthy, no medications...obviously I am one of the guys subsidizing some lazy fvcker that can afford cigarettes and McDonalds, but not healthcare. Maybe you are one of those?

Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, Trump....they believe in making it acceptable to lie, and keep attacking those who allow us any truth.
The link below is from a few months ago where our President says...it's ok for him to lie because people agree with him.
Donald Trump says it’s okay for him to lie since “people agree with me.” | New Republic (https://newrepublic.com/minutes/140136/donald-trump-says-its-okay-lie-since-people-agree-me)
He has lied so much and so often, it is becoming acceptable for the President and his followers just to lie, and call truth "fake". If history serves me, this happened before.
How can lying become so acceptable ?

:beer3: very well put!
