We just purchased a patio villa in Fernandina (hooray!) but plan to rent it out for a while until we can get down there ourselves (still putting ducks in a row here). We need to install cable TV and internet for renters as well as for our own use when we do get opportunities to get down there periodically. We have heard that Direct TV, Spectrum (formerly Brighthouse), Century Link and Comcast are our options. Would appreciate feedback from anyone willing to share their experiences (good or bad) with these providers. Is it recommended to keep the cable TV and internet bundled with the same provider, or is it better to choose separate providers for each service to get the best service in each? We have heard that some providers are better at cable TV (Direct TV) or internet (not Direct TV). How do people feel about committing to a 12-24 month contract, especially for new owners like us? We do not currently use any of these providers ourselves so we do not have any first hand experiences with them. We would prefer to have a "way out" if we are not happy. Thanking you in advance for your two cents worth!:posting:

In my opinion, take Tom's advice and move on to other things on your "to do" list.

Not familiar with putting the service on "vacation". This option would be helpful! Can you elaborate?

Hard to beat Xfinitys Blast Plus offering @ $59.99. 90 Mbps Internet and Digital economy TV package (115 channels) , 12 month contract. $69 with no contract. Add a DVR and a couple of extra boxes for additional TV's and you're still under $100 per month all in.

Love them or hate them, Xfinity has the best PRODUCTS available in The Villages

Full disclosure : I'm a Comcast/Xfinity dealer.

So, I've been on the so-called Digital Starter bundle for about 2 years for $89.99/month, but the promo will expire this Fall and I'd like to avoid the big price increase if possible. I can't find any information about a "Digital Economy" package. Is that something I could somehow switch to? Is there a channel list published anywhere? TIA.

With Spectrum..............it drops to $5/mth until you start it up again.

Can do it once per year.
