Plastic bags with dog droppings

I walked around the lake in the Sanibel/Charlotte area last week, and I fished out at least seven bags of dog droppings. Can people really believe that it is okay to throw these bags into the lake? Please, dog owners, take your bags home and dispose of them properly.

Have the same problem in Hillsborough. The real problem is that the dog owners throw the bags into the rain culverts along the street. The water from the culverts is routed to the retention ponds - hence the problem.

Probably the same class of people that throw their trash out along the mmp's; came through the tunnel toward Sumter Grand yesterday and there was 3 empty beer cans in the tunnel. A lot of money is spent keeping TV nice looking - DO YOUR PART. :mad:

We too have noticed more trash than when we first visited several years ago. Now we are full timers and notice a lot of trash along cart paths. Water bottles and beer cans. Come on folks have some pride.

I have never seen this happen.
However, you can bet your sweet bippy that I would confront anyone who would do this!

These animals (the two-legged variety) are the same ones who came here from somewhere else.
They haven't changed and never will.

Thank you all. A few years back I made the same complaint on these very pages and was shouted down.

it is costing all of us plenty to maintain the pristine look of this community. Unfortunately people move here rent or visit from all over the world and so we are at the mercy of fate as to who we get.

There are specific examples of a disregard for one's neighbors and the community at large . However the real point is and always has been is that we get the community we deserve.

Who are the offenders???? Deed compliance, etc is cited as the authority yet it depends on the status of the offender and the reaction from one's neighborhood.

As a two dog owner it disgust me when someone is too lazy to properly dispose of dog waste. As for the trash, a lot is blown out of the backs of trucks onto the street and the passing cars continue to move it. Cigarette smokers seem to think they can use the public right a way as a ashtray. Disgusting.

Our dog and I completely agree with your comments. Thank you for retrieving the plastic bags. You are going way out of your way. When we walk we carry a store plastic bag an pick up litter along the way. I use to have a walking and stair climb exercise routine at Spanish Springs and did the same.

There is no excuse for lazy or irresponsible pet owners. None.
