Hmm. I followed the trail back to the Milliken Institute. I seems they relied heavily on data provided by AARP polling. Did they poll members? If they did, they have an automatic progressive slant. They also state that most seniors want to 'age in place.'

All villagers made the opposite choice. Since I'm here, I clearly think we're #1!

I went to read the Forbes article and noticed they are listed alphabetically. Hence, Walla Walla, WA followed TV. A few cities on the list did make me raise my eyebrows. Pittsburg, PA, Symrna, TN (near me) is a nice town but top 25 for retirement?, Fargo, ND< Traverse City.

I love Fargo (the TV show), but as a top-25 retirement site? Not sure how I'd fair with a quick nine in Fargo, North Dakota in January or the outcome of a jump in an outdoor pool (or on its ice) in February...

I'm from Fargo..and winters are hard and long. The governor has rebuilt downtown Fargo. We live 40 miles east of Fargo in Becker County with 412 lakes..a real attraction to the Fargoans

Kiplinger's named Lincoln, Nebraska and Springfield, Massachusetts as two of their picks"10 Great Places to Retire". I have respect for Kiplingers finance advice but their picks of great places to retire not so much. I wouldn't take much stock in Forbes or Kiplingers places to retire.

Interesting list, lots of things on their lists were not really considers by us as high priority. Also I pulled this from the article,

It really all depends on the criteria used to define 'The Best.'
