I am looking to borrow (preferred) or buy a small, 1 cubic foot, concrete mixer. This is the type that uses a 5 gallon bucket to mix 1 bag of concrete at a time.

I have a small project requiring about 6 cubic feet of concrete, and I want to mix and pour myself. If any one has one available, let me know.
Thanks in advance, VT

Buy a 2 foot by 4 foot piece of 3/4 inch plywood, 2 8 foot pieces of 6 inch pine, a hoe, and make a troth to mix it in. I made one and used it to build a concrete block house foundation. Did the concrete footers and all the mortar in it. Built a cabin on a lake with zero access up in Maine many years ago. Had to haul all the block and bags of concrete there in the bucket of a small tractor.

You can mix a lot of concrete in a small scoop troth like that with out a lot of work. Does about two cubic feet at a mix.

Home Depot rents them for less than $50 a day

...or they sell the black plastic shallow tubs, that work great for a bag at a time.

Thanks to all, I actually found the hardware stores carry powered hand mixers $50 to $80, and I have buckets, so I may go that route. I will look at the shallow tubs, saw those also, and for this small job that may be the best solution, all I will need is the tub, and a hoe.
