Honestly, what will REALLY HELP is that you call AT&T.

A new one is up in the air at the new Law Enforcement building at Pinellas; no antennas on it yet.

Thanks. It shows that the AT&T signal in the Village of Lake Deaton is weak at best. So, I am not the only one. :(

Call AT&T and get a microcell for no cost (calls routed through your router). If you have a newer cellphone, you can enable WiFI calling on your cell phone (via your router).

The microcell is not an option as it’s no longer made. And , my iPhone 5 &5s will not do WiFI calling through AT&T. AT&T suggests that I should upgrade both phones to 7 as it will only cost me $1300 to then receive a strong AT&T signal using WiFI calling.

AT&T still offers the microcell on their website. I have one so I know it is still supported. AT&T supports WiFI calling on the iPhone 6s.

For what its worth, I have an AT&T MicroCell than I am not using anymore that I'd be happy to give away. The only trouble is I won't be back to TV until October. op, let me know if you want it so I can be sure to pack it into the car when we head down.

Yes, contrary to what was previously posted, Microcell boxes are still available but they are being phased out at the end of the year. Support will continue, however. Typically they provide them for free if you are in an area of poor coverage. I received one for no cost and it works well.

I wish they had been free back in the day. Mine cost me north of $200. On the other hand, my new carrier T-Mobile does provide a similar device for a very low fee (or free if you can convince the support rep to waive the small fee). This is the first I've heard of AT&T doing the same. In any event, the offer stands. The op can have my unused AT&T Microcell for free. I would only have recycled it anyway, so better that someone who needs one gets some use out of it. I could even be persuaded to ship it down to TV for a free drink when I'm back in town :-)

Yesterday, the AT&T rep over the phone stated that they could not provide me with a Microcell unit because they were out of stock and would not receive any more. Yes, the rep also stated that they would provide support for them if I had one.

Last evening I visited the Leesburg AT&T Authorized Retailer on 27 to discover that I could purchase one iPhone 7 and then get one free if I purchased another line. So, he suggested that I drop one of my lines to then add a new line. I guess my old phone number will be history as I can then receive a new iPhone 7 for free! My wife will keep her old number and receive a new phone. She has been asking for a new phone to replace her iPhone 5.

The AT&T rep on the phone and the one in Lake Sumter didn’t mention this option as a possibility.

Apparently it matters who you talk to. For kicks, I asked AT&T if I could order a Microcell and they told me yes. Go figure ... They are also available in E-bay.
