We have company coming in for a couple of days. We would like to take a cart ride to see a gator. Are there any hanging out?
Thanks for the help.
P.S. we don't plan on taking a close up photo.

This might help. Supposedly they are still at the pond just south of Arnold Palmer Country Club. There is a golf cart, pedestrian, dog walker, biker bath going past it or you can park at Arnold Palmer CC and walk over to it.

This is an old thread from 2010.

I've been here for a bit over five years and I find that gator sightings are a rare event. We were fortunate when we had some guests about a month ago to see one is the water next to RJ Gators at LSL.

I've also seen a few in the pond next to the cart path on the ninth hole of Palmer along Buena Vista.

I saw a small one in a veery small pond on the side of Stillwater Trail between Morse and O'Dell.

I've also seen them in Lake Sumter, but again it's rare to see them.

It was even rare to see them when taking an air boat ride with Wild Bill's Airboats. But we did see a few every time we went on the ride. It's funny, we went for a ride in the winter and was told that we probably wouldn't see any gators because it was too cold. Then we went back in the summer and were told that we probably wouldn't see any because it was too hot. Evidently, they're very fussy creatures.

A number of years ago I took an airboat ride down on Alligator Alley just west of Miami and we saw forty or so of gators.

Good luck with your gator search. But like I said, for me, it's been a rare event to see one. In five years I think I've seen less than ten.

I don't know if " Larry" the gator in the pond by the cart path near Brownwood is still there. We haven't seen it in a while.

Sometimes if you walk the boardwalk at LSL you might see one swimming in the water. We've lived here 8 yrs and sightings are truly random. Sometimes folks see them while golfing but to go out to specifically "see" one is pretty rare I think.

We had lunch at Arnold Palmer CC on Sunday but I forgot to go check if the gator was out on the pond. This is the only place I have heard of that there is a quite regular alligator sighting.

Anyone seen one here within the past week at Arnold Palmer Golf Course?

We finally saw one during the boat trip on Lake Sumter. It was just hanging out in a Sand Trap on the golf course seen from the boat's route. This boat tour will please your guests for sure. When we got back to the dock there many a whole lot of large fish and a few turtles just doing their thing. The men & women who run the boat trip are full of good information. Take Care.

The big one in that pond got a little too horny.

:agree: I've taken company to the pond south of Palmer on Buena Vista. You can often see gators on the sidebanks.
If they're out and about sunning themselves, they'll probably be there.

We know. That's how we roll over on three-word thread.
Otherwise it gets boring. You should drop by and liven things up.

Don't you mean "Herbie". He crossed our path last year and scared the $hit out of us !

I'll give it a shot. Thank's for the tip. We haven't had much seafood luck to cook at home or for dinner until we found Sam's St John's Seafood. Very very good eating! :a040:

Ok, I'm getting there. Now I can add this to using the word "your vs you're". My sentence structure is also very week, I mean weak and I capitalize words at the wrong time. Extremely terrible sentence and paragraph structure also. I went to work to help my mom just before high school graduation when my dad passed so I r doing my bestestest.

Hey while we are sharing what has become of 2BNTV & ASIANTHREE & RICKEYD, BIGPOPPA and several other people who posted regularly? I wonder why they stopped sharing and I do miss the fun that they brought to TOTV'S in their own unique way. St, Croix, I truly love your quick wit and thoughtfulness when you post, in NJ we would call you a ****er and that's a good thing. I think one of those people I mentioned was eliminated for being a Nudge. Why do so many people just go poof on this site???? Thin skin or smart cookies????

We live near Brownwood, have looked for 'Larry' several times, and have not seen him. Went on Wild Bill's air boat ride 2 days ago, and saw several alligators. Hint call ahead and ask for the best time to go, the heat of the day drives them into the water, and they only come up occasionally for air. Also at Wild Bills, they have tank and for $3 you get to hold a small (2 foot) gater and take pictures. This would guarantee your visitors will see some wild life.

Gators sightings are sporadic but I've seen a few. Try Gatorland in Orlando, it's a hoot.

There is one place I've seen a gator almost everytime I've gone there and the record was 5 at one time, but you have to be playing golf. At Cane Garden, Allamanda nine there is 2 connected ponds of water around holes 5, 6, 7 and 8 and there is a bridge at one point that you will cross over. I've seen as many as 5 in that area but that was a couple of years ago. Usually always see one, but last week when I played that nine I didn't see any. Those who live in the area of Liberty Park Neighborhood Pool and Allamanda Rec Center would probably know best. Here they are on the map.

If you take a trip to the Clearwater-Tarpon Springs area near the Gulf Coast of Florida, Lake Tarpon has a large number of gators.

P.S. we don't plan on taking a close up photo. If you find one, don't feed it. It is against Florida law and it is an arrestable offense.
