I've recently noticed many of these units in the Collier area. How does one get started in obtaining one? I live in a CYV neighborhood and one would be nice to have. Thanks...

There is a program where they teach you how to use it etc.
We contributed to the fund to purchase it abt 125 each.
Does it make sense? Should your heart stop time is the difference between death and survival. will your neighbors be home to use it? Will they respond well in an emergency.
Will they be tripping over each other and be in the way of the TRAINED EMTs?

Many neighborhood groups have coordinated with the fire department to set up AED systems. They collect from residents to fund the initial purchase of the units and enclosures. The department helps them decide where to put the units and handles training the responders in the use of the AED. There is a system that provides alerts to the responders in case of an actual situation and conducts periodic tests of the system.
Contact the fire department for better information on setting up a system in your neighborhood.
