A 36 year old visiting his parents had been drinking with his father met a 51 year old woman took Dad home and went back to meet the woman. They had more to drink then left in golf cart

Upon realizing he was going in the wrong direction on Buena Vista Boulevard make a sharp U-turn and the woman fell out of the golf cart and hit the roadway. He saw that she was bleeding and placed her in a flower bed witnesses came to her aide whereupon the woman was taken to Ocala Hospital in critical condition.

So its an adult child who doesn't live here . And , the accident occurred not because of speed but misjudgment owing to alcohol

And there in is the proof. No one under the age of 55 should be allowed inside The Villages. He was 36 band she was 51 - problem solved. Want to see your children you simply will have to visit them outside the gates. Just maybe I am beginning to see a slight shadow of the philosophical side of Leisureville.

Tell me what magical event or epiphany occurs to stop people from using alcohol or drugs once they reach 55?

I am the OP and my intent on sharing this was simply to point out that what we experience in TV is played out all across the world. The fault is simply human frailty and TV is not immune and people should stop trying to place specific blame or to deal in absolutes...Life happens

So a thread is necessary to point out the guy was not a resident?

This is more the norm.

A 29-year-old who lives in the Village of Amelia was arrested Sunday night with drugs and stolen merchandise at Beall’s.

Danielle Marie Tsatsaron
Danielle Marie Tsatsaron
Danielle Marie Tsatsaron entered the store on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake and was spotted by the store’s loss prevention officer concealing merchandise in her purse, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The merchandise was valued at $66.99.

A search of her purse turned up a hypodermic needed with the residue of methamphetamine. There were also three Alprazolam pills in a wallet in her purse, the report indicated.

She was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment and petit theft. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.

Last year, Tsatsaron was arrested with two other people when a bumper fell off a golf cart on the Historic Side of The Villages.

She was arrested in 2005 in New York on a theft charge. She was also arrested in 2015 in Marion County on a charge of theft.

That was sarcasm - sorry. I am agreeing with you. Blows my mind how prejudice some of our elderly neighbors can be. Also blows my mind the percent of people that live here that are so smart - maybe they need to realize the rest of the world knows how to be internet jockeys also.

rustyp: Its all good. your above-stated comments speak to my mind. The adult-child living in TV and speeding carts have been discussed ad nauseam. Yes some adult-children living here do cause problems but so do residents over 55, and nearby non-residents who travel to TV. As to golf carts accidents my contention is the number one cause is the same as that for car accidents.... distractions.

I expressed in another thread I don't mind living with other older folks but I hate when they start acting old...again life happens

Neither crime nor speeding carts are really an issue but..............

The golf cart drunk who dumped the woman on the road lived in the Village of Gilchrist and his bond was $25,000 and the Sun reported this morning he was already out on bail. Wonder who had the $2,500 to pay the bondsman? bet it was his drinking buddy father. That's the first mistake, let them sit and stew in the jail for a few days, that should sober them up.

Here's a new one from Village News'

35-year-old resident of Village of Hemingway sentenced in drunk driving case

A 35-year-old man who lives in the Village of Hemingway has been sentenced in connection with a drunk driving arrest this past December.

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k241/9234gypsy/James-Anthony-Sosso-225x300_zpsr52vaiul.jpg

James Anthony Sosso was arrested Dec. 10 after Lady Lake police had received a complaint about about a BMW which was parked at the Lady Lake Car Wash on U.S. Hwy. 27/441. When an officer asked the Sosso what he was doing, he replied, “I was just sitting here sobering up before I headed home.”

The officer observed empty beers cans underneath the car and a case of beer in the backseat.

Sosso failed field sobriety exercises and later provided a urine sample as part of the DUI investigation.

Last month he entered a plea of no contest in the case in Lake County Court.

He was placed on probation for 12 months, ordered to perform 25 hours of community service was told by the judge not to possess or consume alcohol. He can “buy out” of community service at a rate of $10 per hour. He was ordered to attend DUI school, but can opt out if he takes part in an in-patient treatment program.

This innebriated clod taking the corner so fast she fell out was at least gross negligence. Leaving her to possibly die to save himself from a DUI was truly inhumane and ruthless. This jerk is a substance abusing adult child of a Villager .

This morning's Sun had an arrest that wasn't in the online News. A 20 year old was using the pool at Village of Fenney, didn't say if he was with a resident or not. A resident of Fenney also using the pool left his car keys on the pool deck. The 20 year old took the keys and stole his car. Luckily he was found driving on 466 and CR 103. Not only did he steal the car, he didn't have a license. He's already out of $2,500 bond.

I am positive I saw this - person - in Publix at Grand Traverse Saturday at 1:30 PM. He was with two other clowns of the same age. They were clearly intoxicated and causing a ruckus.

He really came to my attention when I went to the liquor store. I left my cart outside the window, as there are no automatic doors at that Publix. The trio came along a few minutes later, and the accused took my cart and pranced a few feet away. He brought it back and came into the store. I said 'that's my cart, guys" and he put his hand on my shoulder and said "Oh, I know". They made their way to the back of the store, giggling and goofy.

They clerk and I exchanged a few comments, and I went home.

There are no suitable words for what I think of this guy.

Actually there are plenty of "suitable" words for him, you are just too polite to use them:thumbup:

Publix at Traverse, that's in Wildwood City Limits. One call to 911 for public intoxication, the Wildwood Police would of been all over that, did you think about calling? There's a popular phrase out now, 'see something - say something'.

Yes. You are right. Again.

The woman hit her head. Flung from a cart with no sides and hit her head hard on the pavement. That is never, ever, ever good.

Give me a break, one death among many thousands of visitors driving carts and I should not have my family to TV. This is an absurd solution. Who do you think would live here with you under those conditions?:spoken:
