Mueller’s team recently hired Andrew Weissmann, chief of the fraud section of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, who previously oversaw the high-profile prosecutions of Jeffrey Skilling, Ken Lay, and Andrew Fastow in the 2001 Enron scandal. Weissmann is considered an expert on “fraud, foreign bribery, and organized crime.”

I would not like to spend the money needed to be part of the investigation and I am not at all confident that they are being honestly run - including prior years.

On what basis would you claim that the Meuller investigation is DISHONEST ?

That is quite an accusation and claim about a man who across the aisle is well respected yet you accuse him of being DISHONEST.

Yes you did. What a pile

Have you ever been the subject of a government investigation?

Think about the full power of the US government against you - a private citizen.

Think about the power of an unlimited team of attorneys against you.

Think about a team of federal employees seeking promotions as a result of a case against you.

Have you ever had the weight of a federal grand jury against you?

Don't take lightly what I'm saying.

I have a friend who had the full weight of the Feds pressed falsely against him. He eventually won after 8 years, but the cost was horrific..and only 2 federal US attorneys were fired.

Think about it before you mouth off again.

And by the way think about the impact a false accusation & investigation had on his family.

And the friends he lost.

And the community he had to leave.

And the loss of income he suffered.

And the emotional pain the family suffered.

As I noted, I have a friend who went through this pain.

And I have served on a Grand Jury for 6 months. So I think I understand both sides of the process. Do you? You wouldn't be so cavalier about things if it were you, I think

We are not talking of a private citizen.

We are speaking of an investigation that BEGAN as an investigation into a foreign power interfering in US election.

We are speaking of an administration that has all the power. THREE people including the director of the FBI have lost their jobs. For what ? Looking into affairs of our President who has decided to be the least transparent ever...renege in his promise to share his taxes,

I really think you are way off base with your comparison.....WAY WAY OUT IF LINE.

You speak as if the subject here is trite. It is our country, not about Trump...it is about our country.

When I shake your tree you are free to speak to me. Until then, just shut your trap. You don't even understand the political implications of my responses. We, the people, through our government, give unlimited power to individuals who have no problem with abusing that power. And the press are far worse.

There is nothing trite about the full force of the Feds against a single citizen. Don't get it? Then you should think about it for awhile.

This thread is about the President and his team.

The President cannot be indicted, (although not tested completely) and the impeachment process is a political process.

If you wish to speak about a private citizen up against federal investigation, so be it,,,start a new thread.

The thread and all related are about our country. Your objection to the federal government having power is noted but not applicable in this case.

In this case, the people you defend, if found indictable, are traitors. We are not speaking if stealing, or such....this is about treason if proven and deserves serious consideration.

I doubt you even read the OP and if you did, read it again because you didn't get it.

Which number steered you from the Russian investigation to a private citizen ?

Private citizens you speak of can't pardon, can't fire investigators, have no chance to blame the media, etc etc.

And your confusion is noted and usual. You attacks rather than discusion has been noted.

Which number on that list drove you to private cases ?

Look, I want no argument with you. You invented, for some reason, a brand new premise.

You are arrogant and feel somewhat full of yourself, and it shows in your posts.

If you want to change the thought for whatever reason you have, go for it, but you simply, as you have before, simply wanted to hijack the thread.

I jumped to Trump because he fits in all the items..,how many folks do you know is firing prosecutors.

Look, I realize you love the guy. I have never accused him of anything, and in fact as much as he protests, NOBODY HAS. the campaign maybe, but not him. And I do not because I do not know...obviously you do know. I just know he is a liar, a manipulator and much more and THAT does not speak well of our country's presidency.

You love is such, you see him as pure....and I remind you, my personal problem with Trump supporters is not as you think...I actually understand the votes he got.

What baffles me is how your love for him can overlook what he is doing to our country.

Well , I'm pleased you admitted your jump to Trump. Given the OP's post, all I tried to do was provide an example of what can happen when the Feds get a burr under their saddle. IMO it doesn't matter whether it's a private citizen or the POTUS. Hillary's investigations are the same as far as I'm concerned.

Sir if you are serious about what the aforementioned comments then you are naive.

Further the Russian story has been ongoing well before the final denomination of the election. to date there is no so called smoking gun. Yet here we are wasting valuable time money and other resources. Why? Because progressive all and a few Republican establishment types have a bee under their bonnets and want to stop Trump at all costs. In essence they have placed Trump in a Star Chamber

Sentiments such as yours allow this drama to continue.

Radical blacks hate him because he is white
Radical gays hate him because he is normal
radical feminist hate him because he divorces older women for younger slimmer women

The Deep state hate him because he is the only politicians to come along that they can't buy or frighten

voters have demanded a politicians who is an independent thinker, can't be bribed and will shake up Washington. well they have him but now and if they were wise they used him well.

You folks are amazing.

I detest Trump, but never ever accused him of anything regarding the elections.

You people are so deep inside conspiracy theories and making the "accuser in chief" a victim, you spout off stuff that is totally unrealistic.

You look for a smoking gun as you say. This is not a play, a drama, a tv show. Investigation is on going about a foreign power "invading" our country, and you people are so concerned about Trump, who deserves nothing, you speak from that dark place you are in. We are investigating treason perhaps, and you never mention any of this, simply bow in adoration to the Trump/Bannon group.

As this morning he continues to blast away at our countries AG, the FBI, etc.. He lies, you accept no matter what, he accuses in his mean spirited manner anyone he chooses, and you support him.

Your place in all of this is really dark, extreme and dangerous. Conspiracy theories, rash accusations, personal attacks are your norm. Never a thought about our country.

Sorry..was responding to a post about Trump.

I guess I should do the normal thing on here..try to hijack the thread and diminish anyone who is not like me. Blacks and Hispanics seem to be the favorite.

You have the floor now...attack someone who is not like you. They deserve it....you are certainly the standard by which we should all live.

I have niticed that you do not post much about current events, issues or our country.

Actually I think about our country quite a bit. But I act. How does writing all your emotional tripe accomplish anything. Contact your rep to express your concerns if you feel strongly about an issue.

I choose not to become so involved in these political threads that they take on a life of their own, or rule my life.

Have a nice day.

First this is a POLITICAL forum, in case you hadnt noticed.

You question my actions ?

I have been in my life a very very active political person, first in Pennsylvania and then in Florida. I helped run state wide campaigns in Pennsylvania and was asked to run for office while there, which I declined.

I was extremely active in the The Villages Republican Club for years. Worked the polls and the phones.

I left the Republican. party after this years convention and am now a registered Independent.

I very much am in touch with Rubio office, and still communicate with pols in Pennsylvania and in Florida.

I do not believe, based on your posts, that your country means much.....I do believe that Trump means a lot to you.

I communicate with as many folks as possible because our Presidency itself is under siege. We have a President who lies, misleads, is terribly mean spirited and accusatory of anyone and everyone based on who bows to him. Believe me, the White House is under siege by this man.

Last night, he used the Boy Scout Jamboree to have people boo an ex president and continually make this Jamboree a political rally.

He is a self centered liar, and I have no idea (I know you profess to know but I do not) what this investigation will reveal but I think it is an extremely important investigation and one that will echo for years, YET, you and your ilk never discuss the country and what is happening....you simply bow down to a liar who someday will lie to the country about something you depend on truth.

Sorry, the blind allegiance to such a person is revolting to me. He does not tell "political lies"....he tells personal and meanspirited lies.

So, do not question my activity in politics nor my allegiance to this country. By the way, I learned to respect truth and to thwart phoney blind loyalty while in the Navy (worked in the Pentagon for 3 years). I am a patriot and practice what I preach.

PS.....As I said...this is a political forum, being ruined by Trump supporters who simply troll the board and make obscene comments instead of research and responding like adults.

Me and my ilk? And just would that be?

I didn't question your actions. I said there are other ways to act. Your post here is 12 paragraphs of gibberish. And I really don't care about your background and/or offices you dreamt about running for.

I know I'm a patriot, and I feel no compunction to provide my resume to prove it. You may be a patriot as well. Your posts do nothing to make that point. So you and your ilk can just keep up your emotional diatribes.

P.S., thank you for your service. As I said before, get a life.

I have a fine life, thank you. Much of it revolves around politics which was the point of my "gibberish" thus that "gibberish" was and is a big part of my life. If I agreed with you on Trump, I am betting my "life" would be fine with you.

You're wasting your life if it revolves around politics unless you're profiting from it. "Buying" a politician is one of the best ROIs you can invest in.

It's ALL "fake news" Rocky. EVERYTHING about the military and most of everything else. The politicians agree to play ball...the party vetts them...they court the wealthy and corporations for "business" to bring to their state...if they get elected, they become the liaison between the corporations and taxpayer money. They are not to be trusted nor believed. Don't you know how they change with the changing of the wind? How they tell different groups different things. They'll tell you ANYTHING to get elected. SOME will DO anything to get elected. Read "The Prince" by Machiavelli...they have. They've also read The Art of War.

It's a game, a show, to keep US divided so they can run free. At the end of the day...on weekends...they ALL eat and play golf together. Politicians are slick sociopaths and psychopaths...because those are the positions of power that they seek.

Find another pursuit Rocky.

Personal Best Regards:

Well, just as a point of clarification for the sake of accuracy, it was not the voters who chose Trump, but rather the members of the Electoral College. The majority of American voters did not vote for him.

They never do...on average a president gets elected with 17% of the population actually voting for them. Only half the population CAN vote...only half of those DO vote and only about half of those end up electing the president.

That's true. And very few of those also except for a few states where Hillary Clinton ran a poor campaign. Wisconsin for instance.
