My present tenant is leaving and new tenant not coming in until September, will the companies charge me to put into my name for one month and then charge newctenant in sept? Thanks

I am confused, why not leave the electric in your name all the time, and have an allowance in the rental agreement? Get the previous monthly bills (if you can since these are under others names), and use the highest bill, then just offer a refund to your tenant.

Yes. My new landlord sent me an email that I didn't read until later tonight. Her present tenant is gone & I can't move until Sept. Told her to call first thing in the morning & change it to my name if it's not too late. (She had said she would reimburse me).
I plan on this being my "forever" home so I think for the next year's lease, I will average out the previous 12 months. If she agrees, then I will add that average to the rent and settle up before the next lease. This is how our gas company in Ohio did budget billing.
